after having seen this dynamic play out multiple times, to me the funniest part is that the same companies that decided ML is "too hard" now go all in on chatbots without any evaluation framework more than vibes

You don’t need to use biology as your scarecrow. your hand waving bio fantasies are only there to add unearned gravity. you literally invoke human extinction. even if it were possible (it’s not), LLMs would not be the enabling factor.

The reality is that trust in US tech has fundamentally been broken in Europe and many other places. The only way I could see it restored is through hard-coded tech guarantees. No diplomatic damage control or even a change in Administration will make this go away. www.reuters.com/legal/litiga...
