A major tsunami warning has been issued for much of the Northern US West Coast after an earthquake in the Pacific, but apparently, some people think it’s a great time to grab their phones and chase internet clout. Get away from the coast!
Absolutely, although cable has always done that. Of course one of the main reasons folks cut the cord was the ever increasing share of commercials on cable platforms. Watching cable these days is like getting waterboarded with ads. Streaming services will get there.

Reminds me a bit painfully tho of this one ghastly book written by someone who clearly didn't know jack about sailing vessels. Author wrote that the crew came back to find their sails slashed, while I howled at the thought of having full sail unfurled while moored in port 😳

Still new to Bluesky and despite all the recent proclamations that BS has essentially supplanted twatter, it feels like it has a long way to go. Lots of echo chambery ranting and then the breadth of conversation beyond those rants is lacking. I’m sticking around though!

Adam Pascale@seislologist.bsky.social · 2y agoAnyone else feel like it's been a long time since the last 8+ earthquake? It's been 3.3 years, statistically the longest break in the last 25 years. But, in the last 50 years we've gone up to 7 years without an M8+. Given what's going to go down in the next 4 years, a megaquake would be on brand.
It seems like face tattoos are no quite as career limiting as they were just a few years ago.
