50 something geek. Just trying to get by on this insignificant blue green planet orbiting an unremarkable yellow sun. Really love Doctor Who, Tori Amos & random 80s/90s mostly forgotten pop culture, so be warned most of my posts will be about those

Watching the B&W Doctor Whos and realised this year marks 45 years of The Five Faces of Doctor Who now pondering whether or not to save The Krotons for November🤫 (I skiped An Unearthy Child having done that back in 2023)

I'm not saying that Noah Wyle is fairly Doctor-ish in "The Librarians" but I believe he did feel the need to say that it definitely wasn't based on the Doctor and it was absolutely definitely just a coincidence.

Question are there any characters in modern TV shows that could be described as Doctorish ? Eg a Giles off Buffy or a Jonathan Creek ? To my mind there's Lorna Wilson as Sister Boniface & Pearce Quigley as Micheal in Small Prophets

Because by god, The Sister Boniface Mysteries is everything I want Doctor Who to be. It's Fun, it's Episodic, and it makes sense. And it's FUN! They also did a Doctor Who spoof on the show. Seriously, it's my favorite new scripted show that's been made in YEARS.

A long time ago I learned about how Mark Zuckerberg built into Facebook that you could not block him. At that time I said, well, that makes him a really problematic business figure. If his brain works like that, it means he feels he is an exception to rules even he makes up. That’s a mindset.
