Whatever one thinks of Douthat, he’s never been a correspondent, and to think that he can learn on the fly on 60 Minutes under an intense spotlight is, uh, optimistic. And it’s not like he’s the kind of name that’s going to pull in ratings or lend journalistic credibility to Weiss’s project.
