Former teacher. Cyclist and walker before Cauda Equina. Lover of the outdoors. Cake eater, coffee drinker, food lover. Wondering what my next adventure will be. Taking life one day at a time.

So excited. After six months of barely being able to walk, I've just picked up my orthotics. Still got a very long road, but at least now I'm on it, rather than sat on the sofa.

TurboMed ankle orthotic mounted on a trainer. This pivots and has a return springy ness built into it. Carbon fibre fixed orthotic device. This goes into my shoe and around my ankle. It's completely fixed and rigid, but will eventually help with cycling. Rigid ankle orthotic with a cycling shoe. This should make cycling possible eventually. TurboMed ankle orthotic with shoe and fiit/ leg in place. It provides stability and has a sprung return to make walking more possible

Anyone fancy a cinnamon bun cup, filled with a ginger cake, vanilla cheesecake, ginger caramel and a mini gingerbread person. Feeling very fortunate after my daughter's baking gang yesterday.

buttondown.com/Risu/archive... Finally finished this after I saw a blog on substack about leaving twitter- educators need to make better tech choices in 2026 No excuses. You can’t give lessons on online harm and then publish on substack or post the football team on Facebook. Or use WhatsApp.

Teacher? Say no to social media and edtech this year

In 2026, choose joy, stop using ai, social media and please, just use books. I have been thinking about what to write to respond to the latest school...
