I've lived among people who were deeply working class and very rich people at different times, and, regardless of the "eat the rich" talk, the working class will *never* hate the wealthy as intensely and obsessively as the wealthy hate them.

And the current pièce de résistance for my Saiyuki obsession is ‘Touched by Gold”, where I see that the colour has deep significance for Sanzo and Goku, and decided to include the whole team in it with Hands of Gold for Hakkai, and Heart of Gold for Gojyo.

Saiyuki train plowing through full speed, and knowing that Cho Hakkai is loosely based off JTTW’s Pig/Pigsy, I HAD to make a more feral Youkai version of him with boar/babirusa features, for when he loses COMPLETE control of himself.

Because I DID NOT forget the Kougaiji-tachi, but also the furry in me loves the idea of Youkai in Saiyuki with more animal features, hence hints of caracal in Kou, crocodile in Dokugakuji, fox in Lirin and rabbit in Yaone. (Kougaiji carries Haughty Catboy RIDICULOUSLY well)

Rising out of the depths deep in the clutches of a new-old obsession of mine, and y’all in for the ride per usual 😂 Saiyuki was one of the most formative pieces of media in my teens and these boys will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart, hence this the very first fanart I’ve done of them!
