Something I'm quite proud of that might not be immediately obvious. When viewing a streamer using shared chat in the Twitch sidebar, they only get a Safe Badge if their entire group should have the badge. If one guest does not have the badge, the sidebar doesn't either, preventing any AI training.

Alright, Safe Badge no longer requires any OAuth permission scopes from the streamer. I'm a bit uneasy doing this as it's against the Twitch API documentation, but Twitch will no longer claim that it'll get your email addr, profile pic, etc. It wouldn't get those anyway, but, it's a lot clearer now.

Also, regarding the Safe Badge confirmation button seemingly requesting email addr, I've addressed this but I want to address it more thoroughly. The weakest permission I can request is "openid". This is designed specifically for authenticating users with a strong guarantee.

I've seen concerns about the permissions required by the Safe Badge extension. It requires host permissions on the Twitch and dashboard domains, which *can* be dangerous if an extension is malicious. I'm considering alternatives (that would most likely be less user-friendly), but let me explain:

I’ve updated Safe Badge to 0.2.0! Update the extension in Chrome/Edge to get it. Also Firefox is in review :3 Bear in mind you may need to re-enable it as it now requires permission on the dashboard subdomain in order to show the badge on raid targets. Reminder: safebadge.ori.mx Changelog below:

Slight priority change, I’m gonna clean up the Safe Badge code a bit first and then I’ll make it open source. I’ve heard the concerns about trusting a new browser extension and about trusting something that authenticates you via Twitch, so I wanna both build trust and maybe let others contribute too

I wanna make a quick comment. If you’re using Safe Badge, please don’t treat the absence of a badge on a streamer as meaning they haven’t opted out or are pro AI. I didn’t include a negative badge for a reason. It’s not meant to be that. It’s just meant to be a positive indicator, nothing more.

Safe Badge v0.1.2 is now published for Chrome. * Collapsed sidebar now displays a bit more elegantly. * Badges now display on channels in search results.

Oh hey, 0.1.1 got approved so I've now published it. Same link! (in my pinned message) This version adds a bunch of other tags like AIOptOut, GenAIOptedOut, etc, that will all give streamers the safe badge.

Last night I debuted my new stream layout! I did however forget to post about it here. But all went well apart from a few minor hiccups (like my sub alerts showing the wrong profile pic??) Anyway! Gonna stream again this weekend I think :3
