Drivers don’t read signs. We should just do what they did in Montreal— no right turn on red anywhere within city limits. Easy, no sign costs, end of story.

I have to think of this every time I feel like I’m not making progress for my organization. We have to keep trying. Lives are at stake if we can’t at least slow climate change.
Tony Jordan@tonyjordan.bsky.social · 4d agoHeart is breaking for the folks in Spokane. Watching KHQ stream and these journalists are clearly exhausted. Many of them are unsure if they will have a home to go back to, and everyone knows folks impacted Fuck climate change.
This is what I would fear about living anywhere with one way out—in a wildfire situation you need to leave at the first possible moment (maybe at level 1 notice.)

So, my work phone number used to belong to the wife of a police officer who was tried (but somehow acquitted) of causing the death of a man in custody. And when I say this number gets the most unhinged right wing spam addressed to the husband, I am greatly understating the level of creepy.
Living in a time of climate chaos in the west is to slowly watch the places you love burn to the ground. Little Giant Pass was an awe inspiring place. Sad future generations will not get to experience it in the same way.
