[obligatory tapping of the "i am not a white cishet man, don't call me a chud/pick-me" sign] hopefully the only time I weigh in on this situation :( tldr: i can't believe "don't be an asshole to people over fandom wank regardless of their gender/sexuality" is a hot take in 2026 but here we are

Fandoms in general have become so carefree about people denigrating het/straight fans and ships (or het/straight passing fans/ships) jokingly. Is it any wonder that assholes have become comfortable with taking it dead-seriously and saying “actually no, it’s not a joke, I really do hate you breeders.” It hurts the multisexuality community. It hurts the aro + ace but still open to relationships community. It hurts trans het/multisexual people. It hurts women who constantly deal with them shipping being the butt of the joke and like they’re “ruining” the fandom or characters. It hurts men who want to become comfortable with exploring shipping as a hobby without being stereotyped as sweaty pervert neckbeards only here for their “waifus” or being closeted in one way or another (depending on what they ship). It hurts people who don’t feel like they’re “queer” enough to fit in! It hurts allies who see their fellow fandom members put them down on the regular! It doesn’t matter if they’re Mr John Cishet the straightest cisgenderest manliest man to ever live and love women, or a well-known queer creator fighting it out in the trenches of bloosky. You shouldn’t be shitting on them for their choices in shipping of all things! “you shouldn’t call ships hetslop bc the characters could be bi—” you shouldn’t call ships hetslop bc calling ships slop is a hurtful thing to say, regardless of the sexuality or gender of the characters or creator! don’t call people’s passions slop unless they let you! it takes 0 dollars to ignore or mute content you don’t like!

I wouldn't say I'm massively into phones or anything but I sketched this out of frustration bc why are there no modern phones with these features, it would be so perfect and I'm mad the only ones are old and slow

Damn, E33 suffering from success, everyone getting mad at their wins is kinda crazy. Their success isn't an indictment on the hard work of equally compelling and successful games in these categories, they just did what they did well. And I think that's pretty cool.
