If this is true, I fear that apathy and exhaustion may prevail.

Trump aligning with Putin is a huge win for Putin and the most terrible betrayal of an ally in modern history.
It’s not fair - vote for more equitable wealth distribution. America has the money to give out free education and health care, but instead they let a few people horde it.
In 2025, a majority of S&P 500 CEOs made more in 1 day than the median US worker made the entire year. Meanwhile, the median US worker would need to work 43,154 years to earn what Trump made in 2025 thanks to his crypto scams & various grifts. When I say the system is broken, this is what I mean.
Barack Obama just delivered a blistering rebuke of Trump's actions against Ilhan Omar. This is worth reading in full.
I love that there are smart people who spot these things and set the record straight. I guess there’s a lesson to not immediately believe something that is too good to be true. Be skeptical.
The Right have been buying up media platforms for decades (check out Sinclair Broadcast Group). It’s been dominant and putting FOX “News” on tvs in medical offices, on army bases… Innocuous slow burn of extreme conservative and conspiratorial ideas. Brilliant strategy … a bit evil …horrible outcome.
Meta took down the No Kings organizing page today - the biggest day of protest this fall. They provided zero explanation. It stayed down for the entire afternoon until most of the protests were done. Outrageous. Put this on the January investigation list.
1. He has a lot more patience than I would have with awful questions like that. 2. He has to be a lot more patient with awful questions like that than I have to be. 3. He shouldn’t have to be patient at all with awful questions like that. 4. That question was awful. 5. Don’t ask awful questions.
Q: Will you disavow the Muslim Brotherhood? El-Sayed: Yes. Why are you asking the question? Do you assume that I wouldn’t? Q: Yes, because I have not heard you disavow them yet. El-Sayed: Have you disavowed them? I have not heard you disavow them yet.
This is pathetic. Ukraine tested Starlink speed restrictions in Europe and had no issues - the restrictions only exist in Ukraine. The Trump administration is actively helping Russia kill Ukrainians - and risking the lives of US and NATO advisors in Ukraine.
Musk is a threat to democracies around the world. Time to stop the slow bleed.

London traffic this morning🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲 Having expanded London's network of Cycleways from 90km in 2016 to over 450km today, there are now on average 1.5 million cycle trips a day. Wonderful to be part of this happy group of commuters.

I am so anxious about the results of the midterm election in America. No matter the announced results bad things are gonna happen. As a Canadian, I wish I could look away, but I know all my screens will be on 24/7.
And now we know that we can add that if Russia wins more data centres and bought farms, will pop up that further corrupt and radicalize the the western world via social media. Ukraine is our shield. Let’s treat them with that respect and help them push back Russian initiated radicalization.
If Putin stops fighting, the war ends. If Zelensky stops fighting then his country will be occupied, leaders murdered, language banned, businesses stolen, children kidnapped. That's what happens in Russian-occupied Ukraine.
Ahead of the 2024 election, @andykroll.bsky.social got his hands on some secret tapes of Trump's budget director, Russell Vought. One thing Vought said hit Kroll like a ton of bricks: that he wanted to put government workers “in trauma.” Listen to this episode: https://propub.li/4yO4q11
I missed doing a Thanksgiving post on Monday. Another year of heartbreak as this past year brought the passing of my Mother in Law, Marion, and cousin, Karl. I had written a song a while back about missing my Father in Law, Norm, the year he passed. music.apple.com/ca/album/its...

Just listened to a lecture about the burning of the books in Alexandria by the Romans. So many conquerors destroyed knowledge this way over the millennia. Is erosion of what truth is through social media and buying up media companies by propagandists actually any different?
In Toronto Second Harvest had their truck fleet disabled by thieves by stealing all the catalytic converters. Hundreds or thousands of people will go hungry with this loss of service. Not only illegal but heartless. What the hell is wrong with our society that shit like this keeps happening?!?

In Lord Keynes' 1930 essay on the economic problems of our grandchildren, he makes clear that a billionaires tax will eventually (as in right now) become essential to maintaining and safeguarding democracy because without it the descent into plutocracy will be stark and steep.
