Nearly all of the commits I’ve seen for PPSSPP involve generative AI from Claude in the past week alone, and their entire newest dev blog is almost entirely written by Claude. Almost half of the commits in the past 3 months use Claude for AI code.

I refuse to believe that this work isn’t possible without AI when there’s emulation projects out there that are done out of passion for reverse engineering and preservation. GenAI should not have a place in this scene when it fundamentally can’t be trusted to be legally clean of stolen/leaked code.
An addendum to anyone needing to use PPSSPP but wants to avoid AI commits, it seems like the current stable build 1.20.4 from May 16 *should* be safe. Public commits with Claude as an author started July 24 this year.
I am not even sure what they are saying between this and people saying it's a bad translation

1) This isn't about generating games or assets with AI, it's just about using automation tools for some processes like bug testing which isn't inherently bad 2) IGN should be embarrassed for this headline. It doesn't say "AI generation" as in generative AI, it's 世代, "generation" as in "time period"

we nearly lost VitaDB and Rinnegatamante's involvement to the scene altogether because of these guys. Which is significant because that guy is pretty much carrying the community on his back. They harassed him to the pointof shutting Down VitaDB when he restricted AI submissions.
