I will forever never be able to hear Donovan's blissed-out "Atlantis" without thinking of DeNiro and Pesci stomping poor Frank Vincent into a pulp. I've tried to excise the association, but it can't be done. All because Billy had to—just had to!—made that stupid crack about the shine box.

If the announced lineup for “60 Minutes” were like free-agency players signed by an NFL team, the sports pundits would be saying that on paper this looks like a team that can maybe win four games and that the front office and head coach will most likely be fired by January.

I will say this about Nolan’s “Odyssey”: It’s good to see a mammoth-budgeted, technically impressive popcorn movie that strongly suggests to its wide audience that you can’t spit on the laws of decency and expect to be the good guy, much less expect that there won’t be a reckoning for your crimes.

I’ve been out of newspapers for years, but the debacle of the WHCA dinner is a pointed reminder of all that rankled: the losing proposition that is access journalism, the self-importance, the inability to differentiate between professionalism and obsequiousness. Spinelessness is a bad bad look.

So, my policy is to ALWAYS root for the Latin American team in the final, regardless of nationality. But because Spain is led by a leftist (who Trump hates) and because I think Yamine Lamal is adorable, I'll be violating my long held rule and will be #TeamEspaña today.
