Graphic artist specialising in 3D game and space art. Currently learning animation. I do space ships (real and imaginary), game props and character art.
Today in space: The Hera spacecraft is about to perform a hard burn so it can meet up with asteroid Dimorphos. 4 years ago, NASA deliberately crashed a probe into Dimorphos. Starting next month, Hera will map the wreckage. 🧪🔭 www.esa.int/Space_Safety...
David James Armsby has dropped another of his stylistic animations about giant lizards. I does this fairly often and he also drops detailed how-to videos as well of his artistic journey. youtu.be/4Xs--OCsGlk

Sadly, Nail and Crescent, as it was, has gone to the great game dev studio in the sky. Here are some critter designs I brought to life for the project that will probably never see the light of day. Sprony is leading a new team to complete his vision of the project and I wish them well.
Just imagining how much work went into this. It's astounding. It looks amazing too. Yeah, go give it an oggle on YT.
Peter has a new render of his Battlestar! please give him lots of ❤️👍🗨️⌨️over at YT!
I've posted him before, but here is a colour correction for my spook-tober Zombie. I actually sculpted him with a skeleton inside the base mesh. to get the bones poking out in the right places. #zombie #spooktober
I made a sky for DOOM using the Gale Crater panorama from Mars that NASA recently released! It felt rather fitting.
Since we are in Spooky Season, here are a bunch of sprite monster and ghouls I made for an old Duke Nukem 3D mod that was strangled before birth. I have far too many models from failed mods on my hard drive.
Quite worth a watch if you haven't seen it.
A little more than a year ago I completed my short film "One Revolution Per Minute" - exploring artificial gravity in space. Still very proud of it. If you haven't seen it, and don't mind the spinning views, why not give it a look? Links in comments.

Ooooh. New editor? I'm interested.
Psst: Tired of map editors that are unmaintained or whose maintainers accept or add LLM-generated code? Love Source? Goldsrc? idTech? Godot? Do you love level design where brush edges line up perfectly to create a fully enclosed hull? Then you deserve a WifeRadiant, from @erysdren.bsky.social :)
Kaizen has given a nice overview of this years Blender Conference. He's touched on a few talks that I didn't see this year. youtu.be/knzKHaZFzbQ

On how I digest news, (a short thread). I largely gave up on the way the BBC covered it during Brexit. The approach of "present what both sides say" as equal weight was clearly failing when economists overwhelmingly backed remain, (that was according to the BBC later). 1/6
This chap has some VERY good free tree models! www.cgtrader.com/free-3d-mode... Lots of formats too. Here's a fairly low quality test render. Made in Lightwave.
This looks like an interesting project.
SeverLink - early DEMO is available on Steam! Play it now ⏩ store.steampowered.com/app/3285390/... This is a vertical slice experience, with some systems and content still in the early stage. But you can enjoy the vision for the project already! #indiedev #gamedev #y2k #lowpoly
This shouldn't be a hot take, but it seemingly is nowadays.
Hot take, but artists deserve to make a living like everyone else
This has been a constant source of inspiration and wonder to me. One of the reasons I’ve stuck with learning animation over the decade or two is seeing how effortless Aardman makes this look. The combination of humour, action and style can’t be outdone.
A lovely article on a phenomenal film that's been a constant source of inspiration throughout my entire life! ❤️ There's a loneliness that comes with working on an original project that's conveyed incredibly well here, as well as the importance of inspiration & education alongside the production.
New character for A Dog Named Fate. One of two policemen who are going to have the worst days of their lives. Normally, I create a character with a full production workflow. I start in ZBrush and create a sculpted high poly and then bake down to a low poly. I tried just poly-modelling it.
I had the absolute pleasure over the weekend to visit Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin’s SmallFilms museum in Canterbury. Utter delightful to see such artistry and unbound creativity from the analogue world of animation. Where low budgets and imagination and a mend-make-do attitude triumphs.
I had no idea that it was the birthday of the Space Age today.
Sputnik day: My combo of movie frames forms a new tall view of the R-7 missile on a monumental open pad in Tyuratam in 1957. It was a very bulky weapon, but on Oct. 4 of that year, it became the world's first space launcher. FULL STORY OF SPUTNIK: russianspaceweb.com/sputnik.html
I did this fan for a long deceased Doom 3 mod called 'Severance'. There was a cryo-pod and and some critters as well. Yet another game mod project that evaporated leaving me with load of half-finished assets on my hard drive. Sigh.
Hard to believe this is Quake. Stellar work.
