I’m having lunch in a cafe where I once accidentally ate a chicken club sandwich so fast that the person serving me, when taking the plate away, said, “Hungry were we, sir?”

The main thing I know about Robotix is that there was an advert for the cartoon series as a trailer on one of my (much watched) Transformers VHS tapes and that the theme went "Who puts the future in your hands? RO-BOT-IX!" (The last said in 'computer' voice, of course.)

Robotix - post-Transformers animated series tie-in toy line involving what can only be described as 'Buildformers' in a cunning bid to hoodwink parents into thinking they were much more educational than was actually the case... timworthington.org/2017/11/05/l...

This would have been the time I saw Jimmy Cricket (with the Grumbleweeds, who terrified me then and now) live in Scarborough at the Futurist. I would have been 8 years old. Jimmy outlasted the Futurist theatre building itself by 8 years!

Scarborough Evening News, headline Laughter on the bill. Article discusses Jimmy Cricket and The Grumbleweeds appearing in the town in summer 1987. The photo has the Grumbleweeds lifting Jimmy up on the beach.

Me, going on about the author and his series of crime books that I’ve dedicated so much of the last few years. A lovely opportunity to revel in it!

Joined a Teams meeting earlier. Idly turned to look out of my office window and saw a bloke having a piss in the alley across the way. Better than seeing someone in the meeting doing it I suppose.

“All the kids are getting into Nimmomaxxing,” is not a sentence I expected to ever type but I’m very glad to have friends that provide opportunities for this kind of nonsense to emerge.
