Thanks to everyone who has voted in this so far - very interesting battle at the top right now that could go any number of ways. TMBG or XTC? The Colourfield or Colourbox? Chas N Dave or Ric N Jen? Neil Innes or Napalm Death? Only you can decide! noiseboxradio.com/anthems/

I’m having lunch in a cafe where I once accidentally ate a chicken club sandwich so fast that the person serving me, when taking the plate away, said, “Hungry were we, sir?”
Me, being a sort of specialist on one specific author and one specific set of books! Do listen, crime fiction and noir fans!
There are a whopping 55 novels in Ed McBain's 87th Precinct mystery series! So where should newbies start? I get some expert advice on jumping on points from Paul Abbott @pablovich.bsky.social. Apple buff.ly/wDl4xnB Podbean buff.ly/wk2LnPK Spotify buff.ly/34bRrLu YouTube shorturl.at/Cj5rC
Remember when things were green? (This is Scotland last week)
The main thing I know about Robotix is that there was an advert for the cartoon series as a trailer on one of my (much watched) Transformers VHS tapes and that the theme went "Who puts the future in your hands? RO-BOT-IX!" (The last said in 'computer' voice, of course.)
Robotix - post-Transformers animated series tie-in toy line involving what can only be described as 'Buildformers' in a cunning bid to hoodwink parents into thinking they were much more educational than was actually the case... timworthington.org/2017/11/05/l...
This would have been the time I saw Jimmy Cricket (with the Grumbleweeds, who terrified me then and now) live in Scarborough at the Futurist. I would have been 8 years old. Jimmy outlasted the Futurist theatre building itself by 8 years!
And here's how it looked in that day's edition of the Liverpool Echo (Saturday, 3rd August 1963) - in the classified section of the paper in the column for 'JAZZ'
The following two pieces of music have always been very important to me and they're now, for reasons most of you don't know, even more important to me.
"Your buttocks are so ugly, even the toilet paper wont go near them"
Who do you think was the screen's best Steve Carela from the 87th Precinct series - Burt Reynolds, Donald Sutherland, the two Roberts, Lansing or Loggia? @pablovich.bsky.social and I survey the field. Apple buff.ly/wDl4xnB Podbean buff.ly/wk2LnPK Spotify buff.ly/34bRrLu YouTube shorturl.at/Cj5rC
The Deaf Man, the 87th Precinct's Moriarty-style archnemesis, appeared in a total of 6 books over 5 decades. @pablovich.bsky.social and I explore their highs & lows and Yul Brynner's portrayal in FUZZ. Apple buff.ly/wDl4xnB Podbean buff.ly/wk2LnPK Spotify buff.ly/34bRrLu YouTube shorturl.at/Cj5rC
Me, going on about the author and his series of crime books that I’ve dedicated so much of the last few years. A lovely opportunity to revel in it!
Paul Abbott @pablovich.bsky.social, co-host of Hark! The 87th Precinct Podcast, joins me for an overview of the many books in the Ed McBain cop series, as well as some of their film and TV versions too. Apple buff.ly/wDl4xnB Podbean buff.ly/wk2LnPK Spotify buff.ly/34bRrLu YouTube shorturl.at/Cj5rC
Having had two hip replacements? And almost everything else I do.
What's your old person trait?
Another exhausting anxiety attack this afternoon. Absolutely cannot keep this up. Give me my body and brain back. I’ve got things to do.
Joined a Teams meeting earlier. Idly turned to look out of my office window and saw a bloke having a piss in the alley across the way. Better than seeing someone in the meeting doing it I suppose.
“All the kids are getting into Nimmomaxxing,” is not a sentence I expected to ever type but I’m very glad to have friends that provide opportunities for this kind of nonsense to emerge.
can we do crimes when there's no prime minister hurry up i need to know
The King with Prime Ministers... GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL! He's filling his PM Pokedex and he's doing well.
I'm not going mad am I? Isn't Equerry pronounced 'Ekwerry', not 'Eh-Kwerry'?
The smile of a man overwhelmed with relief to not have to deal with all that anymore.
