This has been what bothered me about Airtable. Good thing I didn’t go with them. There’s an opportunity for a good interface for local relational databases on Unix/Mac side.

I didn't realize that even Filemaker is now exclusively a cloud-based option.
Apple's Numbers app is pretty much the defacto spreadsheet for macOS, but is still terrible for relational data. There's an awkward hack of using XLOOKUP, but that's fragile. Strangely, though, there's no simple database app for the Mac. Just high powered networked ones.

Why do I get the impression that the support forums are lookin more like figuring out how to get AI to do something rather than exchanging wisdom on how to just directly do it? It's ok if AI got only 60% of the way there - just manually do the rest.

Like a lot of people, I am disturbed by the BlueSky age verification barrier. The iOS based _share age range_ feature is a reasonable compromise, but it's still not a great way to roll out the requirement.
