I'm among the many (many!) Polygon people getting laid off today. I really really really loved getting to be a TV editor, and I hope to do it again soon (in some form; writing/editing/social/homepage/copy editing/what have you!). Not much else to say beyond: open for work and hire all my colleagues!

You work long enough in this business, you eventually get caught up in layoffs. Today I lost my job at Vulture, the best gig I’ve ever had. When I stop crying I know I’ll want to write again so please keep me in mind for freelance work or regular work or just general nice messages.

chelsea hired me as an intern and basically started my career. when I had to take two emergency weeks off due to my health, she supported me and helped me finish out my internship, which I've never forgotten. she's been a mentor and friend since, and has helped countless careers flourish

I'm still in shock and so so deeply angry about Vox Media's decision to sell Polygon. I am one of the over 20 people laid off today from the best damn website out there. I'm so proud of the place we built, and the workplace I helped shape. I'm sure I'll have more to say soon, but processing it now

literally idk what to say about Petrana — we came to Polygon together in 2018 as interns, and since then, I've been so proud to see her continue writing some of the funniest, fandom knowledgeable, and touching criticism online. she's an amazing writer and I'm so happy that we are friends :')

I am among the MANY folks who got laid off today. Don't have anything good or thoughtful to say on it atm. gutted, sad, feel completely fucked. Fuck vox media management forever. they did this shit on may day. vox media union forever.

Along with just about everyone else at Polygon, I am now out of a job, ending over a decade at Vox Media for me. Working at Polygon was a wonderful experience, and I'm proud of the work we did there. I will be looking for work, as well as starting my own project(s) on the side. Stay tuned!
