Many CPTSD survivors reading this grew up feeling our emotions were neither understood by nor important to the most important people in our worlds. Which makes it hard, as adults, to believe our emotions are comprehensible, valid, or important at all. The struggle is real.

The suffering we endure w/ CPTSD is not noble. It is not redemptive. It is not "cleansing." Those who try to tell us that our suffering is a "gift" are wrong. We actually deserve recovery-- & we don't have to "earn" it by having a positive or passive attitude toward pain.
