I can say with confidence that the person (or the parents who got the plates for the teen driving) spoke a truism as they did indeed what signal cut in front of me at an intersection I was driving through and had the right of way. 10/10 no notes.

When I was little there was a commercial for Thomas' English Muffins on TV that said something to the effect "they're such a bargain". Little me took that their name was 'bargain'. That became their name in the house and what my parents and I have called them since.

hit me with your hyperspecific friend or family slang. when i was a kid my friend once ate too many sour patch kids and then had some ketchup on fries and it was painful because of how acid blasted his tongue was. he told this story a few times, so "a ketchup story" came to mean an oft-repeated tale
