Yesterday, Vancouver, WA, USA adopted a comprehensive code that eliminates parking minimums citywide! Vancouver joins at least 111 cities in the USA to have done so. Welcome to the club!

The City of LA is spending millions of dollars in court to NOT build affordable housing on this parking lot. Meanwhile, in their 2025 Housing Element Progress Report published last week, it's listed as Surplus Land.

"Nearly 400" parking spaces for $43 million dollars. $107K+ PER STALL. They're gonna charge $2 an hour with a maximum of $8 per day. At 100% capacity at the daily rate it would take 36 years to pay off the garage. www.edhat.com/slo/news/dow...

Today marks one year since Don Shoup died. I put on a jacket I didn’t realize I wore last at our memorial lunch, pockets stuffed with Kleenex. In Don’s memory today, think about how you commit yourself to change and leave a legacy of passion and love behind.

Looking for a little bit of good news? Delegate Shelly Simonds just introduced a bill (HB262) in the Virginia General Assembly that would prohibit minimum parking mandates for any building, new or existing, in the state. Just one of ~7 similar bills we expect this session @parkingreform.org
