If, ten years on, you're still convinced that the first thing to do to fix UK is to rejoin EU then I think you might be more a part of the problem than you think you are.

My guess is that Sir Keir didn’t know about this, because he was busy closing in on a treble-winning season on FIFA at the time and his handlers always dealt with the actual job of being Prime Minister, which he wasn’t allowed anywhere near.
