National COVlD levels would be characterized as High (WVAL=5.63) instead of "Moderate" if the CDC did not downshift all level categories, past & present, as of Aug 14. We labeled this an "ethics crisis" on Aug 16 & warned it would slow the public health response when levels worsened. We're here.

NBC has picked up the #bluewashing story. On August 14, the CDC downshifted how they categorize wastewater levels to make all current and historical COVlD levels lower.

My reasons for still caring about Covid-19. 1) Each infection crosses blood brain barrier, fusing neurons, disrupting them, disrupting mitochondria energy production. I worked hard to get my brain to work how it does, I don’t want it & all my extra schooling to go down the drain with brain fog.

Is everyone really out here drinking 90-125oz of water a day? Discovered I’ve been chronically dehydrated all my years of living. What will happen when I finally meet this benchmark? Pee every 15 minutes? My organs will unshrivel like the raisins they must be? Will I unlock superpowers? 🫠

Lost in the chaos of everything; last week CDC (yes, this current CDC!) issued guidance for COVID vaccination. Last year they recommended vaccination based on "shared decision making." This year it's a stronger recommendation: "COVID-19 vaccine is recommended for all adults ages 18 years and older"

At a glance

Two types of COVID-19 vaccines are recommended for use in the United States: mRNA vaccines (Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech) and a protein subunit vaccine (Novavax; now manufactured by Sanofi US Inc).
A 2026-2027 COVID-19 vaccine is recommended for all adults ages 18 years and older.
A 2026-2027 COVID-19 vaccine is also recommended for all children ages 6 months–17 years with moderate to severe immunocompromise; for all other children in this age group, a COVID-19 vaccine is recommended through shared clinical decision-making.
Where a recommendation on this page describes use that is not within the FDA-approved indication, the page identifies it as off-label.
Schedules for the updated COVID-19 vaccines are based on age and immune status

infuriating to see so many posts dismissing those calling for masks becuase the mask is not a systemic solution, when the only other people who showed up to beg for systemic solutions the public meetings i attended were also chronically ill & disabled people (+ woefully few allies) in masks 🤔

babs in 2023 giving public comment at the los angeles county board of supervisors meeting. they are white femme person with brown and blonde hair wearing a black Cambridge mask to match their black sleeveless turtleneck and gold jewelry.

TikTok censors everything I post within 2 minutes. They take days to adjudicate posts & always allow them. Not any more. This is the only post they have outright refused to approve and levels are now MUCH higher on the Big Island.

Hawai'i is in the midst of a large COVlD outbreak. Levels on the Big Island are estimated at approximately double that of the national peak of the largest COVlD surge (BA.1 Omicron, winter 2021-22). (1/2)

Vaccination reminder. Updated Covid-19 and flu vaccines are available. I was able to get the new updated Moderna Covid-19 vaccine (first time diverging from Pfizer for that). Got it in opposite arms, keeping my covid and flu arms the same. Some research shows this can help enhance responsiveness

Weird combination of errors today - computer went into an auto do not disturb mode (which I never set, so must have been an update thing) , which blocked signal to the 3d printer. So wasted about 45 minutes troubleshooting something that I only saw inadvertently from my computer’s daily log.

It’s important to note that the absence of counting the Pennsylvania 2 measles deaths is coming from the same playbook they used for Covid to downplay it. The died “as a result of measles” or “died but happened to die with a measles infection”.

Adding in another thing you can do - I was on the CDC NWSS page today (the color map shown), and they are doing a survey currently on that page. I wrote a paragraph explaining these types of things with reccs of what to do better in the very last part of the survey. Something to try at least 🤷🏻‍♂️

The CDC recently downshifted current and historical COVlD levels into lower categories. For example, 6 of the 8 states normally classified as High or Very High have been downshifted to "Moderate." This is Part 2 in our series on the CDC "Bluewashing" ethics crisis.

🚨BREAKING 🦠 On Friday, the US CDC arbitrarily shifted higher COVlD levels into lower categories depicted with cooler colors. Much of what was Very High is now "High." What was High is now "Moderate" or "Low." Low is "Very Low." 1/

Here’s a take from another person (with more credentials), further explaining what I had been documenting for the past few years, ever since the CDC shifted to viral activity levels. I’ll tag the posts I’ve made or link the YouTube videos under this.

After months of presumably low Covid-19 levels - barring some sort of signal attenuation from new variants (confounding variable) - we are starting to see some early activity from the Kinston, North Carolina facility. Also, 99% chance growing Covid activity from ED visits.

Here's the latest variant picture for the United States, to mid-July. XFG.* "Stratus" remained dominant but fell as low as 33% before rebounding to finish at 52%. #COVID19 #SARSCoV2 #USA 🧵

Jesus Christ. Doing a new housing application and to verify I am me (who is filling out the form post-scanning my government ID), I had to do a prisoners photo set of front, left, and right side photos in the application portal. What the literal fuck…

Fourteen more PJ.2.1 wastewater detections. It is dominant in many sites. NYC (8), Maui (2). Maine, Virginia, Florida and DC. No obvious uptick in cases in any of these places that I could find though.
