This year, Zendaya’s in 3 movies that’ll make over $1 billion at the box office.
Fantastic premiere/return of #TedLasso. Love this show, so glad it’s back!
Biking!! The infrastructure is getting better (location dependent) and I can ride an e-cargo bike that carries my children home from summer camp AND hauls a Carla Cargo trailer with a DJ and live DJing equipment on it. We are also building a genuine bicycling culture.
Food, man. Food is so much better than it was in 1986. All of it. Poor-people food, restaurant food, fresh food, frozen food. Food is just a hell of a lot better.
The girls call Porky by nicknames such as “Pork Chop” and “Chop.” Ergo, this hat is perfect for me.
Fuckery!
Scoop: In a private call with top officials, St. Paul Mayor Kaohly Her lashed at requests to delay a homeless encampment sweep. She attributed her anger to “fuckery” being said about her in public, 3 officials told @axios.com . One state rep logged off in frustration. www.axios.com/local/twin-c...
I'm going to miss these summer camp bike commutes. It's a little different each week. But summer camp bike commutes become school bike commutes!
FB has decided I should see Zack Snyder fans celebrating every James Gunn failure. I don’t have a boxer in this fight. I didn’t like the Snyder movies and the Gunn stuff is turning out mostly OK so far. This debate isn’t for me.
I usually end up reading Don DeLillo's "Pafko at the Wall" about once a year, and man, it's just so good. As I was finishing it last night, I was sitting up in my chair like you would watching an actual baseball game. It captures the feelings of that moment so well, completely absorbing.
First it’s Saint Paul jacket season. Then it’s Timberwolf coat season. Then it’s just a big-ass coat season.
Driving home in the dark listening to “Lateralus” is, in fact, healing.
“Your heart felt good It was drippin’ pitch and made of wood And your hands and knees Felt cold and wet on the grass to me”
You know what hasn’t been enshittified? Cheetos. Please don’t correct me if this is wrong.
It’s almost time to get a cheeseburger from the Midway Men’s Club (cash only).
It’s @puzosuperelli.bsky.social at the X Games saying that if you don’t send it, you might as well be at the Y games, because why are you here? 😝
Trump’s approval rating right now is about 33%. That’s about the same as Nixon days before he resigned, says @nytimes.com.
Nothing like having a little struggle with summer camp anxiety and then realizing that your fly was down—like majorly down—the whole time. This is a true story. Happened to me this morning.
Beyond the badass movie career, Lee Marvin was a decorated marine who fought in WW2 and was publicly supporting gay rights in the 1960s. Just an all-around legend.
Is there a modern equivalent to Lee Marvin?
Nola and I took a long walk down Summit and the river tonight. It’s still sinking in that this neighborhood is where we live now! It’s a nice place.
We (meaning my family) also just had the TV on and running at all times. It was pretty much always on.
It’s hard to explain but tv was better when you couldn’t watch the show you wanted whenever you wanted to watch it and most of the shows were worse and the TVs were worse and the entire experience was worse, that’s when it was better
