I loved Duggan from City Of Death. They should have kept him on as a companion. Better still, he should have had a spin-off... RIP Tom Chadbon (1946-2026) www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3L-...

Oh bugger. Tom Chadbon has died. I know him mostly from City Of Death, a highlight of classic #DoctorWho, but he had a remarkable body of work. An excellent actor. RIP.
Oh no. Bill Oddie has died. We’re losing all the best people. A remarkable multifaceted man who should be remembered for his comedy, his music and his passionate support for our environment. A good(ie) life well lived. RIP. #BillOddie
Absolutely loved recording this episode with Sophie and Louise. Comes with an extra special appearance from @themindrobber.bsky.social’s Dad!

Attempting to catch a very clever mouse to return him to the wild. He’s just managed to get into the trap, steal the blueberry I placed in it, and is now hiding again.
I’ve just listened to last nights episode of The Archers and, frankly, no. Don’t you dare. Not having it.
Thoroughly enjoyed this ramble with an #EastEnders legend. iTunes-> podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/t... Spotify-> open.spotify.com/episode/1hsq... Audible-> www.audible.co.uk/pd/B0HBCWN8K...

It's Friday rambling time! This week's Guest President is Michael Greco, actor, football fanatic and forever remembered by millions as EastEnders' charismatic Beppe di Marco. Our journey that encompasses dreams, Italy, criminal law and one or two stories that were probably never meant to be told.

I’ve been a reader of the Doctor Who Magazine since I was 7. I’m now 51 and, in the issue released today, is my mad little show and me, stood next to someone who has become my friend and colleague. I’m very, very proud.
“Christopher Timothy, John Wells and Peter Jones tell the stories, but only two are true. Tim Brooke-Taylor and the audience must try to spot the hoax!” Well, we’ll be having some of that!! www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...

Looks like I’m shelling out for DWM tomorrow then.
Vivian Merchant was born on this date in 1929. A wonderful actress, treated appalling by Harold Pinter, a man who wanted both his cake and to eat it when it came to women. Her final appearance in a Crown Court shown in 1982, illustrated in the 2nd picture, is very sad.
This video of Zia Mohyeddin, one of the most celebrated British-Pakistani actors, performing a speech from Hamlet (act 2, scene 2) is more than worth a minute of your time. #Shakespeare
Dad’s Army is TV nectar as far as I’m concerned but this scene is particularly beautiful. Perfectly written, perfectly performed. Laurie and Le Mes hit every note.
To me Joe Caldwell was one of the wonderful writers of #DarkShadows whose name who stutter up the screen on the faulty roller caption at the end of episodes. Reading this I’ve learned he was so much more. This is an inspirational piece of writing that is more than worth two minutes of your time.
My friend Joseph Caldwell died on July 13 at 97 years old. The headlines remembered the novelist, playwright, and Dark Shadows writer who helped create Barnabas Collins. This is the Joe I want people to know. Please share: The Joe Caldwell I Want You to Know open.substack.com/pub/juliefra...
Oh this is a shame. Ed was a brilliant broadcaster and one of the Radio 4 voices that has become so familiar to me. A good life, well lived. Broadcaster and journalist Edward Stourton dies aged 68 www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Had an absolute storm recording @ramblingclub.bsky.social Live with m’colleague Mr.Lear and our special guest Presidents Rowland Rivron and James Payton last night. Behind us, the plaque for our President Tony Slattery. Wonderfully receptive audience. You can hear the results in 3 weeks time.
The garden, looking rather like a beautiful film set, the other night.
Terribly sad to read Brenda Fricker has died. She was a powerhouse of nuance in Casualty and her role in My Left Foot was deservedly celebrated.
