Finally! Some actual investigation into into the "AI companies are buying rare books and destroying them" frenzy. Happily for rare book lovers, this doesn't seem to be the case, but someone or multiple someones is buying USED, not rare, books, mostly nonfiction, in esoteric sci/tech fields.

WRONG! None of these prosecutions has been a misfire. A misfire implies that somehow, something that, in the ordinary course of things, would have happened — a gun would fire a bullet, for example. That's not the case with these vindictive prosecutions. They never would have worked.

The DOJ's collapsed felony criminal case charging a former Olympian with damaging the Reflecting Pool is just the latest in a string of legal misfires

1/x Cramer might be right, though it still has room to fall, so I don't think now is the time, but over a decades-long timeline, it's very possible that SpaceX will grow into one of the most important and valuable companies in the world. Think about Apple when it went public in 1980. It was a much

The even funnier thing about this loss — to me, anyway — is that Hassan blew through ~$725K and lost to a candidate who not only suspended his campaign, but spent virtually nothing on it.

oh my god: a trump-endorsed candidate lost the GOP primary to a guy who suspended his campaign last month: www.politico.com/news/2026/08... trump completely washed, juiceless, cooked, it's over, lamest of the lame ducks, many people are saying it

Chief District Judge John J. McConnell Jr. of Rhode Island faced a severe campaign of intimidation, doxing, and six credible death threats after issuing legal rulings against the Trump administration. The harassment included over 400 hostile phone calls, unwanted "pizza doxing"

This federal judge ruled against Trump. Then the threats began.

U.S. District Judge John McConnell’s experience is emblematic of the climate facing jurists, whether nominated by Democratic or Republican presidents.

The Houthis say they will attack Saudi oil tankers in the northern Red Sea ("off the Yanbu area") after vessels re-routed to avoid the Bab el-Mandeb strait. The Houthis say their strategy is a "siege for a siege."

In implementation of the Yemeni Armed Forces' decision to impose a maritime blockade on the Saudi enemy and to reinforce the equation of "a blockade for a blockade".

The Yemeni Armed Forces, by the grace of Allah, successfully targeted the Saudi oil tanker "Wafa" in the northern Red Sea, off the coast of Yanbu, with a number of ballistic missiles. The strike was precise, thanks be to Allah.

With this latest attack, the total number of Saudi oil tankers targeted by our forces since the start of the maritime blockade on July 22nd has reached eight.

Meanwhile, the total number of Saudi oil tankers that have been prevented from proceeding and forced to turn back in the Red and Arabian Seas has reached 29.

With the seccess of the Yemeni Armed Forces, by the grace of Allah, in tightening the naval blockade on the Saudi enemy from Bab al-Mandab in the southern Red Sea, the Saudi enemy has resorted to diverting its oil tankers towards the northern Red Sea. Therefore, the Yemeni Armed Forces affirm that their operations will continue and escalate in targeting Saudi oil tankers in the northern Red Sea to close all access points and prevent their passage, thus establishing a blockade-for-blockade equation, regardless of the consequences, putting our trust and rely on Allah.

It is impossible for any cognitively intact person to listen to Trump discuss the Reflecting Pool and not conclude that he is profoundly disturbed, mentally ill, and in need of institutionalization.
