GMAIL made the AI Suggested Reply to look exactly as the text area to respond an email. I find myself clicking on it thinking it is a typical placeholder that gets erased once you starts typing. I'm wondering how many POs are excited about the "huge success" of the AI suggestions 😂

"Digital transformation" was the political buzzword through which strategic public functions were transferred to closed, private technological infrastructures in one or two jurisdictions. A de facto privatisation and abdication of sovereignty. With AI, it will get worse than that.

I got approached by a company with a job position that says: "If you aren't already achieving 20 to 50x productivity gains compared to a year ago, this role will be a difficult fit." I know they meant well, but I am perplex to the fact that they write statements like that. What do they expect?

the tragedy is that in-principle access to information was *never* easier. The digital tools available are incredible and cheap - or even "free" (open source). Its a historically significant regression for society to reach such a dystopic point in just a couple of decades.

We had/have the same frustration while trying to explain that LLM outputs are also editorial. That LLMs are trained and programmed to answer in a specific way. Access to information is being monopolized, we are living in dangerous times.

This one point is proving remarkably challenging to get across: ALGORITHMIC FEEDS ARE EDITORIAL You wouldn't expect to do well pitching your ideas to a newspaper or TV that hates you. Why expect anything better from X or Insta, which are openly authoritarian media?

Just leave. I did that almost two years ago and it is less scary than it sounds. Tip: don't think it as an all-in change. Just open a new one, start slowly migrating the important stuff while keeping your gmail around just in case. In no time, all your critical work will be out of it.
