I just saw a meme that said “get in losers, we’re reclaiming the emdash”. People. PEOPLE. Where are your STANDARDS? It CLEARLY should be “get in, losers — we’re reclaiming the em dash.”

I really hope the Switch 2 turns into the indie machine i think it can be. Especially with all of these AAA games coming to it. More interest in the console on that front with the portability? Indie games should be BANGING on that shit

- Black-owned game studio - All black Voice cast - No Ai used - Relaxing creepy game - Over 45 levels with leaderboards - Launching Sept 1 this year With the industry falling apart around us, small studios like ours that make weird games can only survive with your support

Play as a woman who's an axe murderer, who kidnaps men, locks them in a basement, and decapitates them (in this light-hearted puzzle game) store.steampowered.com/app/4756010/...

I’m 36 today. I spent the first half of 35 happily writing about indie games and doing as much as I could to platform them. I spent the second half 35 fighting to do that with new management before they fired me. Then I was unemployed for 3 months. Then I finally got a full time job in gaming.

Games media publications big and small have been working overtime to show the full scale of fuckery happening at Microsoft. I get that shit sucks. And the media can always do better. But this “nobody is as smart and bold as me and my Bluesky pals” posturing is so tired and unhelpful

It's wild how 70% of the stories on the Microsoft game studio layoffs and carnage don't think it's worth noting that the company went on a studio acquisition spree three years ago that involved lying constantly about the vast benefits of mindless consolidation just not useful context, apparently

If you like what we do, we could really use the support. Even $1 a month helps a ton. $5 gets you Discord access and our writer interview podcast. $10 gets you Skydive, our deep dive show. We're a little behind on editing that (everyone has had health issues), but they're coming. 3/X

My wife lost her job in June, which means I make all our money now doing games writing and consulting! Oh, boy! How stable! Skybox is getting more pitches from more writers than ever, and we're publishing good stuff. But we need to be able to pay people. To do that, we need money. 2/X

Hey, let's talk about money and @skyboxcritics.com again. Last month, we hit $250 a month! Yay! This month, we're below that again. I'm not shaming anyone; times are hard. But the reality is Skybox operates at a loss that I make up personally, and that's becoming more and more unsustainable. 1/X
