Idk if anyone I know in Chicago has a room for me n my cat but I work I pay rent on time I do chores and I mostly just read in my room or play videogames I’m a perfect housemate.
I get that it's hard for younger folks to grasp how immediately, completely insane 9/11 made this country, so I'll just point out that George Bush, a widely despised clown, pulled 90% approval for doing absolutely nothing- liberals would attack you for suggesting he was less than infallible
You have to remember that most people never read another book after high school and once you do it makes a lot more sense

Losing games journalists is as bad as losing devs, we need a strong culture of critique to continue to make better games.
My pitch for Sleeping Dogs has always been that it's the answer to the question "what if Grand Theft Auto was good?" Joe is right. We should be one like the third one of these joints.

Saying it again, because of the Restart closure: there is no future in this business. Get out while you can.
Two things about watching an outlet you've written for close: Most importantly, watching your very talented friends lose their jobs. Secondly, knowing you will never write there again, no one will ever write there again, and in my case, that I will never be paid for the last thing I did for them.

Well, it happened again. The entire editorial team at Restart, myself included, was laid off today. With that, my time in games media has also come to an end. After 20 years, helping to build and run multiple sites, and experiencing numerous layoffs, I just don’t have it in me anymore.
Sometimes my wife and I will see something and just look at each other and say "John Woo shit," which is usually shorthand for "the coolest, craziest fucking thing you've ever seen in your life." This entire film is John Woo shit. Absolutely bananas.

I think a lot of people long for a time when we all understood each other and we all spoke a common language instead of being fractured into hyper niche communities and GTA 6 kind of feels like it's the last time that will ever happen in the games space. It can't be that. But it won't stop the want.
headfallsoff@headfallsoff.com · 2d agoGTA 6 feels less like a game and more some kind of totem for a certain kind of dying gamer identity, that cannot economically or culturally sustain itself anymore. it represents a million different things and seemingly the least important of them is that it is an open world mission based video game
