I think the fundamental problem for Democratic Socialists is that their world view is not shared by the majority of the electorate. They confuse the popularity of progressive policies with a shared world view.

While I think there are pitfalls to this strategy, picking someone who made buckets of money gaming the financial system to be an economic advisor doesn't mean alignment w the investor class. There's a reason the IC enlists hackers caught after successfully breaking into highly encrypted servers.

What's particularly embarassing about Trump's performance on the world stage is that his bullshit is so transparent. The fact that such low quality bullshit was enough to get him elected makes it doubly embarassing.
Remember, the far right were willing to see 620 - 750k die rather than let go of a White Nationalist agenda & slavery. Unlike our forbears who put their lives on the line to defeat that vision, all we have to do is vote blue.
When I look at how far this past 2 years have & the next 2 will set back every progressive agenda item, I have to ask those progressives who made it a mission to make Harris too toxic for progressives to vote for if they've learned the lesson of making the perfect the enemy of the good yet.

A good exercise for getting out of an unhealthy ideological target fixation is to find two things good to say about your preferred candidate's Primary opponent.
So far Harris has said two things of note: The way to defeat the right is for the left to turn in numbers to big to rig. Expanding SCOTUS must be the top priority for the left. It's OK to unreservedly praise her on these two points. It's not like you are endorsing her candidacy in 2028.

The right will vote for a rapist if it means blocking even a mildly progressive agenda. The left will vote for no one but a saint even in the face of a radical right wing agenda. P.S. There are very few saints in the world.

Hopefully Americans have come to understand what real corruption lloks like, and stop equating it with taking advantage of connections. Everybody does the latter. Somebody you know knows somebody you're trying to meet so you take them to lunch. Is it 100% fair? No, but it's not corruption either.
State run elections for President is a sound concept. States generally defend against Federal efforts to corrupt. The larger the state, the harder it is to corrupt. The electoral college reverses that. Smaller states are overweighted. You need only corrupt a handful of smaller states to do the job.
