Knowing that they only got Bugs when Coyote v Acme was in post production makes the weaker parts of the movie make way more sense, because it means they stripped out a whole character/plotline in service of just *having* Bugs in the movie

VHS is making a comeback in a big way
The full trailer for You Can See Everything is out today. And my first thought is that it should be required that Nathan Fielder film for 48 hrs at every tech CEO’s home.
This is frying me
If the 2028 Democratic presidential primary were held today, which of the following candidates would you vote for? Harris 25% Newsom 15% Buttigieg 13% Ossoff 10% Kelly 9% Ocasio-Cortez 8% Shapiro 6% Pritzker 4% Beshear 3% www.liberalcurrents.com/what-are-dem...
carpetbaggers, famously the villains of reconstruction
The thing about AI LLMs is that they are incredibly impressive and in certain contexts you gotta hand it to them and also people who love them and have outsourced any and every question to them instead of calculators or traditional research or self-applied logic are incredibly annoying
Made it 118 pages into my book before I realized that I had read at least 250 pages of it before
audibly said "WOAH" when I saw this one
Rebecca Black's new album
If only the media had as much interest in the world's richest person, the primary funder of the Republican Party, who spoke at Trump's Inauguration and gave a Sieg Heil, once again declaring his belief "white solidarity is the only way to survive" as they do some Twitch streamer.
For a certain kind of white man, there is no fear more primal than the fear that the people they have abused will gain power and treat them the same way.
I’ll show you state capacity the likes of which you’ll never believe
When you renew your license you should have to take a written test and that test should include questions like “are you ever legally allowed to exceed the posted speed limit on the highway” and “when taking a right on red, are you required to make a complete stop”
Yet another issue where every single person who touched it needs to end up in jail for us to have any semblance of the rule of law. You cannot have a functional democracy where the government creates a plan to literally throw away votes from places that don't support the incumbent party.
This is pretty fucking wild. I had assumed in a worst case scenario he would target blue zip codes and toss ballots based on technicalities but this is even worse than I imagined.
This quote is from last February. Good work sir!
This summer's food recalls are broader in scope, longer-lasting, and more severe than past years as regulators are slow to respond. The parasite surveillance staff at the CDC, which responds to outbreaks (such as cyclosporiasis), was downsized last year by DOGE from 11 people to three.
trump should issue a bill of attainder just to see what happens
These people are bugfuck insane, “windows cause homelessness because they are expensive” this is why arguing against zoning as a concept is so stupid because you end up saying that the poors should be grateful for their windowless box
I don't think you've established that a window is comparable to a seat belt. Windows add cost, which effectively results in its own public harms including literal homelessness. You need to establish that the health benefits of their mandate outweighs all such negatives.
Working on a theory that no one knows what the New Deal actually was and 90% of people advocating for "New Deal II" have never heard of the NIRA
I’ve always thought it was odd that the senate didn’t flex the “advice” part of “advice and consent” and say “here’s out list of potential nominees you get you pick one”
this is stupid but even if we were gonna do this format we should at least name like Ford, Toyota, General Motors
100 companies are responsible for 71% of global emissions. They told YOU to recycle better while they polluted more. Don't fall for it. Hold systems accountable. #ClimateCrisis
Two of my family's go-to movies were Muppet Treasure Island and Charlie's Angels, so Tim Curry was how I understood that characters were played by actors and those actors could play different characters
Legendary actor Tim Curry, known for his roles in Rocky Horror Picture Show, It, Muppet Treasure Island, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, and many more, has died aged 80.
This kinda shit is so tiresome, because it implies that a question can never be resolved. This isn't doing historiography about the relative impacts of trade vs language in the spanish-english wars. This is "are some races inferior," we *have* litigated this, the answer is no!
Academia is a unique space where people can pursue controversial questions wherever they lead. If the work is pseudoscience (and, in my view, Cofnas' race science clearly is), academia has effective channels for response: public criticism and peer-review.
What an awesome exchange where two guys are arguing wherever [phrase] means the expansive dictionary definition of a phrase or the colloquially understood definition of the phrase
It isn't. PE companies explicitly whittle down businesses to shells in order to eke out profit. That's a PE model. His argument is basically that every non-public business is using the private equity model, which is not just wrong but also insane.
this rocks this guy just doesn't believe that the law is the law because he doesn't like it
I'm not opposed to the use of flock cameras for solving murders or prosecuting gangs that break into famous athletes houses while they're on the road. I am opposed to speed cameras that punish me for a lead foot like I'm a fucking lemming. I view that speed limit as a guideline.
Is there any argument that doesn't just apply to EZ-Pass??
Is there an argument against speed cameras that doesn’t also apply to the congestion charge cameras?
Oppenheimer and The Odyssey are, thematically, the exact same movie - a man, convinced of his cause's righteousness, develops a weapon to end the war that has dominated the world, but in so doing he destroys the fabric of the world and damns himself for having made it
This is why I’m anti anti data center, because even if you could isolate just the ai ones from the ones that let you go Online (impossible) the way people talk about it *does not understand a distinction *
So even if you’re anti-data center (and I mostly am) it’s not great that so much stuff like this goes viral implying that we can fix the other problems associated with climate change by stopping data centers.
Here’s the thing about high school sports like cross country: most people do not win. In fact the vast majority do not win. Most people who do the sport are competing against themselves. If you get 10th instead of 11th in a race, and you think it’s because someone was trans, you’re a loser
What is the definition of "trans rights"? Puberty blockers and other medical interventions at what age? What of participation in HS and college sports where fairness comes into play?
The actual harsh truth about MAHA is that it is an anti-vaxx, anti-science, pro-diarrhea conspiracy movement. It cloaks its arguments in abstractions about "big pharma" and "free speech" to generate *the exact op-ed The Atlantic keeps publishing*. Movements like this need to be fought, not placated.
Educated liberals stop falling for “but *this* republican might be operating in good faith! challenge” [difficult]
It’s all Trojan horse shit where the horse is “an apple is healthier than a bag of chips” and then inside the horse is “medicine is fake and gay” and yet despite the Greeks having jumped out of the horse like 20 times at this point these Atlantic geniuses keep marveling at the next horse
literally the plot of House of The Scorpion, a YA novel about how doing this is Bad
extremely normal guy voice: I cloned myself so I can become my own blood boy.
