Damn right! Can't believe how under the radar it has gone.
The Capita civil service pension fiasco should be a much bigger scandal than it seems to be. There are people leaving work next week who won’t be paid their pensions as entitled and will have to claim Universal Credit.
Cherish the flame that is Penda's Fen, repeated on BBC Four on Wednesday 9 September
The relative yields of fruit are discussed in relation to the prevailing climate. And there's folk dancing.
Make your favorite film sound as boring as possible without giving away the title: Humphrey Bogart reluctantly gets involved in the admin regarding an associate’s immigration issues.
Calm down Tadej. You could have lost that. Rare show of slight petulance there I think. Annoyed that Mas nicked the mountain points.
Just listened to a podcast where the host explained what the OJ trial was for younger listeners

Oh fuck off Joanne. Dolly's Imagination Library was probably full of trans people living their best lives as per her strong LGBTQ+ advocacy. You're a fucking troll.
www.maptap.gg August 25 100🎯 91🏆 100🎯 98🎯 96🔥 Final score: 973 Difficulty level ridiculous again, please make it less US focused. How can identifying a 2,200 person settlement in a massive US state be easier that identifying a national capital, the largest city in its country by some distance?

Booking dot com algorithm still dog shit. Would be helpful if it could realise that given I live in Liverpool, one night in a cheap Manchester hotel is not a holiday. Still at least I can enjoy the "best of Manchester"
You know nothing (about Joanne's rampant trans phobia) Jon Snow.
Absolutely dogshit from HBO Max with La Vuelta highlights. The "extended highlights" on their site right now are just a random 20 minutes that ends as Enric Mas goes through a tunnel. 10 minutes of the 20 are ads as well. Sort it out!
Demolition Man is set 6 years from now. It got many things wrong like the eradication of all violence but damn it got one thing right.
The former occupant was a plumber so more pipes than we know what to do with. When we had the kitchen redone, they removed about a kilometre of them 😂
Question for the hive mind. What's the nicest or most horrible thing a person has left for you to find on moving in after buying their house?
Why yes they are. Here are two local faves. An ultra-rare K4 telephone kiosk with a postbox and now non functional stamp dispenser in Frodsham, Cheshire and a rare 1856 Victorian fluted pillar Penfold postbox on Balls Road, outside the Williamson Art Gallery & Museum in Birkenhead.
Aren't old postboxes brilliant?
Yeah, I take a packed lunch on my rare office days. Except for my monthly bagel run to Brick Lane for a cream cheese bagel. Very fortunate it's only 15 mins from my desk. Even there the tourist special salt beef is now £7ish.
as someone who's out and about quite a lot I'd like to call it now and say that, while it was always quite hard, it's now officially no longer possible to find a lunch in (centralish) London that's broadly affordable, broadly healthy and broadly tasty, and god that's really tough for morale
Yesterday's charity shop haul. A interesting looking bit of Welsh psychogeography, a very odd looking 7" single that I've yet to play but is described as experimental synth pop and a comic by I assume @scarygorgon.bsky.social
Last week's Dining Across The Divide in The Guardian was appalling. A police officer who was a former Tory voter, now Reform UK stated he was considering Restore Britain next time and was described as charismatic guy by his dining companion instead of a fascist as he should have been described.
Sweet jesus. I went to the loo to recover from the first one and got a second one in Welsh.
Yes Booking dot com algorithm, that's exactly what I should do during my overnight stay in Manchester to go to a gig.

Still in Scarborough after my long football weekend. There's an ice-cream van on a permanent pitch nr my Dad's house. Was looking forward to a lunchtime ice-cream. Sadly the van has the triple whammy of cash only, cash is king crank posters and is plastered in Generative AI. No ice-cream for me.
