Looks like academia is the real Game of Thrones., where one syllable out of line can send you to the guillotine. No wait, I meant firing squad...wait, no...No electric chair... Wait...don't kill me...arrghhhh...silence.

The 1st look at Children of Blood & Bone, it looks good imo. LOOKS. The rest I am giving the benefit of the doubt. With no carryover expectations from book to film or vice versa. Knowing how different things can be in different forms. We will see. I judge both as their own thing
Nolan's Odyssey debuts at 98% on rotten tomatoes. I guess the using Lupita and Elliot Page worked out just fine.

Today I was rewatching Dune 2,& they were talking about the South of Arakis, where the fundamentalists are. And they said, "nothing can survive there without faith." It reminded me of how we always say Nigerians are too religious. I guess the same thing applies to both places
About my spinal fracture, not healing as well as I should have after the 6 weeks bed rest. Been asked a couple times how I am doing & I haven't said, because seeing the 3d reconstruction of the CT scan of yourself broken is hard and
Today marks 38 years since Section 28 came into law in the UK on 24th May 1988, effectively banning anyone who worked in government buildings (like schools and libraries) from offering any support to vulnerable young queer people.
I was cited in a peer reviewed journal. I was involved in creating 3 of the 10 works cited in the piece. One, curated in an amazing con, assisted by so amazing folks like @lanovellaserena.bsky.social, a story by Mame Diene & Woppa Diallo in the anthology I co edited, & an interview of me.
The Boys season 5 has to be the greatest piece of political, satirical fiction to ever be on tv. If you remove superpowers and change the names, it's basically real life, right now.
Doing my hair for the first time since my accident. And it was already old before that.
I spoke on Channels tv about delivery safety, accountability, and the Chowdeck rider accident that left me with a spinal fracture two months ago. You can see the full video on my IG and my Change dot org petition against Chowdeck at the links in the post below
I also get the beejezus scared out of me when I walk on the road. It's like one never realized how much damage all these speeding vehicles can do. Who came up with the concept of cars and bikes driving on the road with fragile people walking alongside?
Hurts if I walk, sit or stand for longer than I apparently should. Which doesn't seem to be a lot. More physiotherapy recommended, and an appointment with the orthopedic surgeon in two months.

If you asked me how I am and I haven't responded, it's because I honestly don't know. Physically, the orthopaedic surgeon said there's calluses in my spine or something (good thing because it means healing, new bone formation). But inside, I mean inside my head, I'm not sure.

Yesterday was the eight weeks anniversary of my accident where I fractured my spine and have been healing since. CT scan and appointment tomorrow with the orthopedic surgeon, to see how well that's going.
Finalized contract for a book deal, from the agents, in my inbox. 🥰 Happy I'm okay enough to sign it and coming others, myself. Double win.
It's the 6th week anniversary of my Black Valentine and red Black History Month accident where a speeding motorcycle hit me, fractured my spine and I almost died several times that day. 6 weeks on the bed, and on my back since and not being able to do most things for myself.
How will I carry African speculative fiction on my back now?
