All things Twin Peaks, Lynch & Frost. Cult/offbeat movies & TV. Visits to filming locations & other pop cultural landmarks. Occasional bad jokes & dog pics.

Apparently, my employer has an unwritten rule that anytime I attain even a mild degree of job satisfaction, they will mobilize the entire institution to crush that as quickly and mercilessly as possible.

With broken hearts we announce the passing of Glen Hansard in the early hours of this morning. We are still dealing with the shock of it all, so we kindly ask that the privacy of Glen’s family, colleagues and friends is respected at this difficult time. . Photo by Mikolaj Rotowski

Alex Cox on THE PRISONER and the Genius of Patrick McGoohan 📺 Watch all 17 episodes of the landmark 1960s television series! This is the first in Criterion’s new YouTube series of 5 introductions to THE PRISONER by Cox, writer, director and author of I AM (NOT) A NUMBER: DECODING THE PRISONER (2018)

Hadn't seen it in decades, but ALTERED STATES is just as gonzo as I remembered. Yeah, I get the Ken Russell part and all, but how the hell did Paddy Chayefsky get from NETWORK to this??

On the Criterion Channel, watch LUCKY (2017) in our Starring Harry Dean Stanton collection! ❤️ Acclaimed actor John Carroll Lynch directs this meditation on mortality, loneliness, spirituality, and human connection that doubles as a love letter to the life and career of the legendary and beloved HDS.

We concluded our #BlairWitchProject tour, appropriately, by hiking out to the former location of Rustin Parr's house at Patapsco Valley State Park near Granite, MD. Unfortunately, the Griggs House, which dated from the mid-19th century, was demolished in the early 2000s. 1/3

Finding where Heather, Josh, and Mike encounter the forest of hanging stickmen in #BlairWitchProject was a challenge. Online directions were maddeningly imprecise, but we narrowed in on a wooded area about a 10-minute drive from Seneca Creek State Park and just...went into the woods. 1/3

Really good trolling would be to go see Picnic at Hanging Rock with some friends and then 35 minutes in get up and leave the theater and disappear and never be seen again by anyone in their entire life

We spent a night at the Hillside Hotel in Knoxville, Maryland, where Heather, Josh, and Mike stayed in #BlairWitchProject. We called ahead to reserve the actual room they stayed in and were told, "you got it." When we arrived, however, they said we couldn't have that room. 1/2
