Something that’s been lost in the NAPLAN reporting today: the equity gap in our school system is growing. First Nations kids, kids living in poverty, and those in regional, rural and remote communities are falling further behind. Most of them attend an underfunded public school.
In every @abcnews article I see on Gaza, all include something along the lines of "... triggered by Hamas's deadly attacks on Israel on Oct 7 ..." WHERE IS THE BIT POINTING OUT "... after suffering 75 years of massacres, apartheid, torture, oppression, kidnapping, illegal occupation ..."??!
It was always strange to call the genocide in Gaza a war, but it's even more bizarre when there is a ceasefire and Israel has killed 1200 Palestinians since then. Even if the Guardian doesn't want to use the term genocide "war" doesn't capture one sided slaughter of civilians
