Why Arabic matters in biblical studies? Moshe bar Kepha was one of the most prominent Syriac-speaking writers of all time. His valuable commentary on Matthew incorporates the whole Gospel text in lemmata. It survives in 3 witnesses: BL Add MS 17274, Mardin 101, and one in Arabic: Vat.ar.453 (1/4)

Arabic #WOTD تزعزع /tazaʕzaʕa/ (quadrilit. II) "be shaken violently" as in Anastasius of Sinai, De transfiguratione, Sin. ar. 428, fol. 297v: واذا ايقضت [كذا] البحار .. واذا تزعزعت قوات السما جمعا "if the seas were to be stirred up, if all the hosts of heaven were to be shaken violently ..."

In 1656, Johann G. Nissel (d. 1662) published an Ethiopic and Arabic version of Song of Songs with a Latin translation (plus several other texts). The scan on Google Books (from a copy held by the Bavarian State Library) contains handwritten notes on some parallel passages in the Syriac Peshitta.
