I don't know which void I should be screaming this to, but: The mere fact that ChatGPT (and others) can generate text and manipulate data at lightspeed doesn't mean it'll make me understand the problem, analyse it, and find a solution to it faster.

It was, in fact, extraordinarily bad policy, but not necessarily from the public health angle. In my view, it contributed greatly to everything that unfolded in Russia afterwards, as the big guys felt the taste of 'government permission to leave home' and realised they could get away with anything.

Facebook reminded me that six years ago I tried out driving a Volga (GAZ-24), the Soviet equivalent of a Cadillac. It is fun but also as terrible as you can possibly imagine.

Having to navigate my Sunday arvo around trains that run every 30’ is annoying. We have a country full of economists and we are all so concerned about every five minutes of time wasted… can we assign a dollar figure to ‘not being where needed due to waiting forever for the farken train’?

I've been living in Melbourne for 3.5 years now and I still can't quite get used to the fact that transport people here just don't seem to hang out with each other all that much (except when attending events such as conferences, trivias, etc.). What a truly poor state of affairs.

I have a suggestion: setting the speed limits should be the responsibility of a dedicated Road Safety body in principle. Whoever else might be involved in speed limits (local authorities, road maintenance orgs, etc.) should be able to set a lower speed limit contextually if need be, but not higher.

Honestly, on education, I am an "everything should be free" maximalist. From launches to books to transportation to extracurricular activities. School is a field levelling machine, there should be zero barriers to entry. Zero friction whatsoever.

Getting TOD right in practice is extraordinarily difficult and requires policy alignment on a lot of levels.
