Hospitals across #Ukraine fight to save lives—and sometimes, to keep the lights on. With support from the US State Department, we provided Kyiv Regional Clinical Hospital with a power system that keeps ICUs running during power cuts.

In Kherson, thanks to the Czech people, we’re delivering 2,934 stoves & 29,340 gas cylinders to people left with cold homes because of Russia’s attack on civil infrastructure.

With winter approaching, families like Haji Akthar’s had no proper heating, limited safe water and sanitation, and many children were out of school.

After decades of immigration, 70-year-old Haji Akhtar and his family returned to #Afghanistan with almost no possessions. They settled in a returnee camp in Maidan Shahr.

In Berestyn, Kharkiv Oblast, 447 students of Lyceum No. 4 study in shifts: one week in a shelter and one week online. We equipped 2 sheltered classrooms with support from the Czech Republic. 3 more are being prepared with EU funding. More shelter space = more lively learning.

2/ These ovens help preserve dignity by letting families prepare their own meals; they also create local livelihoods by employing bakers from the community.

1/ This is a community baking oven in Gaza. Families bring homemade dough, and trained local bakers assist them in baking fresh bread and other staples.

🚰The main water station in Miznaz in northwest #Syria was extensively damaged during 14 years of war, depriving local communities of safe drinking water.

1/2 In January, armed clashes in northern #Syria forced tens of thousands from their homes, leaving them struggling to cover basic needs. With @euinemergencies.ec.europa.eu funds, @peopleinneed.bsky.social provided 300 families in Aleppo’s Ashrafiyeh neighbourhood with one-off $150 cash assistance.

👋Meet Tetiana, head of one of 125 families in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast we helped with @euinemergencies.ec.europa.eu-funded cash-for-fuel. 🇺🇦Tetiana, a retired nurse, helps her village with their medical needs. Cash-for-fuel means she’s not worried for herself and can do more for her neighbours.

🛠️👷With support of the Czech people, through our SOS Syria Emergency Appeal, we modernised the water station by installing a solar power system and constructing a modern control room. In addition, we also rehabilitated the building, the elevated water tank, and the fence and provided a generator.

🚰Miznaz in northwest Syria was near the frontline for many years, and the city suffered extensive damage to its infrastructure, including the main water processing station and water network. As a result, residents were deprived of safe drinking water.
