unironically: air travel (despite what the OP said) air travel in the 50s was not only incredibly expensive and often just luxuries for the wealthy, but also incredibly risky today aircraft are much safer, redundant, and efficient than they were when the jet age first began

Food, man. Food is so much better than it was in 1986. All of it. Poor-people food, restaurant food, fresh food, frozen food. Food is just a hell of a lot better.

air travel is one of those experiences that has gotten monotonically worse over my entire lifetime

question though: has *anything* in the last 40+ years genuinely gotten *better*?

like, there's *more* stuff, sure, but is any of it *better*?
