Damn.. Disclosure Day is the worst movie I've seen in a long time. I didnt even go in expecting much. Feels like it was released about 30 years too late. What the hell happened to Spielberg.
You hate programming and computers unless you use Assembly. Garbage collection is a joke, you're throwing away your reasoning.
I’m convinced that a large % of programmers don’t actually like computers. As a side effect, are also perfectly happy to throw away their reasoning to a model as soon as they can. I don’t get it, at ALL.
I think it's the Trump/Elon combo that really broke things. Tesla and Twitter are mostly still fine (on paper) after the CEO went full batshit-nazi. Others in power took notice.
Trump doesn’t force people to do bad things. All he did was show people they could get away with being horrible if they really wanted to, and a lot of powerful people decided they didn’t need to pretend anymore. Especially those in influential positions who could push back but did not.
I'm still building out my agent harness setup, with auto review, diff tracking + ralphloop-like iteration for longer runs. Just hoping I finish in time and get some use of out it before the whole idea is obsolete.
Mythos's oneshot minecraft clone. We are not ready. This is like, the game. One shot. From a single request. Imagine the sideprojects that will move from weekend or weeklong tasks into 15 minute side tasks. Oh also it added multiplayer (see tweet in replies)
someone made a fork of opencode that routes through the unsecured ai endpoints from chipotle
GPT-6.3: solves quantum gravity, unifies physics, proves the theory of everything Bluesky: “but can it count the r’s in strawberry?”
I really don't get this. You think if Star Trek androids were being made right now, corps wouldn't be using them to make everything shittier for money? The technology isn't the shitty part, the institutions are, as is always the case
As a science fiction writer I really fucking resent tech bros for ruining the phrase "artificial intelligence." 80 years of it being all about cool androids and interesting computers destroyed by five years of "Spicy autocorrect making everything shittier for money." NEVER FORGIVE.
Im honestly pretty hyped for async LLM's ala Thinking Machines. Mainly since we may finally have a universal translator that actually works.
VS-code pi.dev integration. Nice. Havent tested it yet but looks promising. github.com/cdervis/vsco...
So we're gonna have large local MoE's soon that take up minimal RAM, higher inference speed, with close to dense model performance?! Sign me up!
Today we’re releasing EMO, a new mixture-of-experts (MoE) model trained so modular structure emerges directly from data without human-defined priors. EMO can use a small subset of its experts for a given task while keeping near full-model performance. 🧵
Putting in some effort customing my agent harness. Just wondering if im wasting my time? Could all this be mostly obselete within a year like prompt engineering?
Do I think LLMs are conscious? No, probably not. Do I think they ever could be? Yes. Do I think we’ll know for sure when the threshold is crossed? Almost certainly not. Treat your LLMs well, people.
Beginning my journey of de-Claudifying: Found a European Openrouter style gateway which looks great so far. For a ChatUI I found RikkaHub which seems absolutely fantastic so far?! Highly rated alternatives I tested were just terrible in comparison. github.com/rikkahub/rik...
GitHub - rikkahub/rikkahub: RikkaHub is an Android APP that supports for multiple LLM providers.

Holy Shit. So I attempted upgrading to Claude Max, got hit with an ID requirement so I didn't bother upgrading. Now my Pro subscription's blocked! WTF! @anthropic.com API Error: 400 {"type":"error","error":{"type":"invalid_request_error","message":"Identity verification is required to continue."}}
So is every Claude Max user just handing over their ID to Anthropic?!! No fucking way Im doing that, especially since Thiel backed Persona is handling the verification.
Trying to wean myself off Cursor and getting to grips with Claude Code, gateways etc. The amount of options and associated libraries out there boggles the mind. I see why most write their own systems/harnesses. Im hesitant to adopt some new libraries since 90% of these will probably die in a year.
If believing an unsubstantiated fact about the world makes you feel good, that should be a red flag.
Opus 4.7 seems to drift quite a bit. It's really smart yet doesnt follow instructions that well over longer contexts.
You can think open source AI is both good and inevitable, (shallow moats and all that) and still think there's value in a lab sitting on a breakthrough for a while. Regardless of whether their motivation is safety or just business. This isn't contradictory.
Im losing it at those using GPT-2 as evidence that Mythos is all hype. GPT-2 "too dangerous to release" was partly marketing, sure. The danger was also real and it played out exactly as described (internet of slop/scams). They're citing the one example that proves the opposite of their point.
It would be funny if we get something close to superintelligence that still can't count letters in words correctly. The thing is, this is completely possible. Most seem to judge intelligence by human standards, all the while ignoring our deficiencies. Same argument applies to consciousness.
This take is way too generous. There's been a flood of conspiracy around the latest Artemis mission. Moonlanding = Real may now or soon be the contrarian position.
Imagine trusting science to bring astronauts to the moon and back but not trusting science to develop safe vaccines.
if you’re a jerk to llms you’re probably a jerk to people too. any argument against this will just further prove my point 🤷♀️
Gary Marcus building his case that the Top Secret list of NSA 0-days leaked into the training data.
And they were right to be concerned at the time? It's tech that never before, some concerns turned out to be valid (scalable disinfo, spam, slop etc) Anyway Mythos level models bring fundamentally new risks that we clearly don't seem be ready for.
People said the same thing about both GPT-2 and GPT-3, outside of OpenAI, which included Anthropic people at that time.

Growing up I watched the Animatrix and thought one thing was just bad writing: That ordinary, decent people would form angry crowds over robots. It one felt like lazy sci-fi shorthand for "humans are the real monsters." Anyway. How's everyone's Sunday on Bluesky.
