CBS Philadelphia@cbsphiladelphia.bsky.social · 7h agoNick Sirianni took accountability following the Eagles' heartbreaking loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. The coach of the 2-3 Birds said his decision to kick the ball in bounds on the final kickoff cost the team the game.
And like the Phillies, there are only so many times you can bring back the same basic principals and hope things improve. The Eagles had much much better highs, but also, same HC, marrying to a new OC system, core part of the team aging out(o-line for the Birds).
Anybody trying to blame Hurts is suffering the same debilitating head injury that seems to be infecting the Eagles coaches. 
Sirianni could have put the Jags in a position where they had one play to pick up 20 yards AND get out of bounds, with the defense set up specifically to keep them in bounds. How is any other option even considered? I am still dumbfounded.

How are the receivers not aware this is now a clock kill operation? Why in the first play a poorly designed pass instead of a clock burner run to check the first box? You run it on 1st down and the worst outcome possible is a 54 yard field goal with no time left to win the game. Terrible coaching

Your objective is to gain a few yards and make them use the TO early so you dictate the end of game scenario. He calls two passes - an incompletion and one where the WR gets out of bounds

(🕐 stops) :17 Run for -3 :12 (Jags use last timeout) Just can't stop the clock there.
It's just mind boggling decision making that you don't trust Vic Fangio with 8 seconds left and the other team with no timeouts. Also, make a fucking tackle on special teams.
