Nice feeling. Completed the first draft of 'Blood Will Have Blood'. It's been fun to write, despite its grimdark tone & excessive use of the word f**k + all the blood shed (the clue's in the title). Now to let it sit quietly until my objectivity kicks in with fresh eyes. #writingcommunity

Just received the ARC of @trudieskies.readindiefantasy.com latest novel, The Chosen One Con - read the first page and already hooked! My writing tutor always insisted you have to engage the reader within the first page. So ✅!

I made the mistake of getting Lenovo laptops for my kids. The damned things constantly break, but worst of all are the power adapters, which don't last more than 6 months and are incredibly expensive. Trying to get their website to let you ask for a replacement is impossible. Avoid!

Masters of the Universe is a truly awful film. It tries self-parody and fails, with a self-conscious cast unable to commit to the tone, except for Jared Leto (who is manic!) Nicholas Galitzine can't do comedy, Skeletor calls him "just a pretty boy with muscles" - deliberately ironic?? One to avoid

I'm reading The House of Silk by Anthony Horowitz and blown away by how good it is! He's captured Watson's voice perfectly, the atmosphere of late Victorian London, the detection methods, it's all there. Whilst bringing such darkness to the plot. Wow!

What's your take on George Lucas' comment? "I don’t like focus groups. The audience doesn’t know what they want to see. If they don’t like a character I want to find out why. The studios hear it and let the audience actually make the movie." Should writers heed their audience or produce their art?

Really crazy to learn that JK Rowling once worked at Amnesty International as a bilingual researcher but she was fired because she was too busy writing books during work hours instead of documenting war crimes in French speaking Africa.
