part of why the AI market is pushing "everybody is using it, it's inevitable" narrative: I've seen with people in my life the more you lean on it (and a lil bit slippery slopes towards more) it will make you worse at what you're doing until your output is as mediocre as anyone only using AI to do it

Suresh describes workers who feel they have to "AI wash" their work: "They just do the work, the same way they have for decades, and say Claude did it." 42/
The world is full of people who insist "AI is changing everything" but who - when pressed - have to admit that what they mean is that they're pretty sure that AI *will* change everything. Eventually. After we allow it to consume all the planet's energy, carbon, water and financial resources. 8/

Il y a un énorme travail de sensibilisation à faire — même auprès de contributeurs à Wikipédia — pour expliquer que ce produit un LLM c'est du plausible, pas du vérifié, et que les LLM n'ont aucun régime de factualité.

7. The film centers Odysseus's guilt over his war crimes, but never shows us the POV of his victims, and instead glorifies the perpetrator for feeling bad about himself. I found this unsatisfying ethically and worse, imaginatively, because Damon's character is given only one mood (Troubled).

the belief that culture and cognition and consciousness are primarily "information in the head" is why so many folks seem to think agentic/other AI can become "aware" in the human sense. But human development, culture, and cognition reject that position. How do we get this across to the public?
