Here's the @firefox.com FOUC bug in action on the new NodeJS docs. beta.docs.nodejs.org I see this multiple times per day even with cached CSS files. It's quite annoying.
Loving this psychedelic prog rock album. Polygondwanaland (2017) by the Australian band King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard.
Spent an hour with Claude trying to solve a HMR issue with Vite and Solid. Turns out it's not a bug... The Solid Vite plugin just resets and replaces updated components and their children. Parent components remain untouched so at least it's not a full page refresh.
What do you all think of NPM adding scanning of all packages during publish- a 15-minute delay during peak times? What concerns me the most is: 1. false positives 2. the SLA for the "appeal process" Anyway, good step! github.blog/changelog/20...

I was just listening to a Einstürzende Neubauten album. At one point a percussive metallic sound comes in and I thought "woah this sounds so real, the pattern is so organic and off tempo, so experimental!". Turns out it was just a construction crew hammering something a couple of houses away...

New: the highly controversial AI music generator Suno was hacked. The hacker sent us Suno source code; it shows the company scraped YouTube Music, Deezer, and Genius. In all, Suno scraped *decades* worth of music from the internet. Obviously didn't pay artists www.404media.co/hack-reveals...
I was very excited about trying @rocicorp.dev Zero and then I saw it needs 375 deps. Yeah no, I'll pass.

The Dish (2000) is probably my favourite Sam Neil movie. It's a low budget Australian film based on a true story.
"The technical improvements were ultimately a side benefit of this agentic rewrite. The real business function was publicity. It helped Anthropic tell the story it needs to tell, the story that “AI is enough”." Brilliant piece by @raymyers.bsky.social raymyers.org/post/zed-cre...

I was looking at the @tanstack.com docs for Start and quite frankly this is insane. Not only is verbatimModuleSyntax extremely common these days... but how is it even possible for the user do anything that can leak server code into the client?
The @solidjs.com team is making an amazing job with Solid Start 2. Dependencies have dropped from 479 in v1 to 137 in the last v2 alpha version. And apparently a Rust version of vite-plugin-solid is coming up which would drop all the 50 or so Babel deps.

After a year of Bun I'm back at Node... I tried Nub by @colinhacks.com but it's still very early days. Is TSX by @hirok.io the best way to run .ts/.tsx projects these days?
Anyone else getting slow loading images for the past weeks? Very often images simply don't load at all. I know at some point @bsky.app switched to using @bunny.net Maybe the CDN doesn't cache stuff long enough in Mexico or LATAM.
That helps explain why big media, always the handmaiden of power, works so hard to frame climate concern as some fey, boutique, out-of-touch elite concern. They don't want you to know that other people are concerned too. If you knew that, you might organize & push for change! And so we get this:
