Retired bricklayer. Kootenay kid, born and raised. Hater of liars. Grumpy, pissed off radical left lunatic.
What happens next? Madness. Racism. Homophobia. Transphobia. Economic collapse. Labour strife. Educational decline. Healthcare cuts. Service cuts. Growing deficits. All the usual ‘conservatives’ things
BC flipped conservative on Saturday. 64 seats out of 93. Provincial voter turnout was 48%. In my riding? 17%. We have work to do here. The rise of the far right is not inevitable-but we have to fucking show up. #bcpoli #cdnpoli @charlieangus104.bsky.social
In one day, two politicians - Bolsonaro in Brazil and Vucic in Serbia - with ties to Trump have lost surprise elections thanks to high turnout. The rise of the international far-right is not inevitable.
Only thing is that the Conservatives actually got less votes yesterday than they got in 2024. But the NDP got a LOT less votes. So it's less about "more people buying into the Conservative message" as it is "less people wanting to vote for this NDP message". Same outcome, but a distinction, I think.
Oh, they’ll notice when their truck insurance doubles, and they have to produce a credit card to get service at the local emergency room, if it’s open.
The best part about a change in government is that a bunch of whiney losers in your town just got exactly what they wanted and it won’t make any difference because their problem wasn’t the goverment, it was that they’re morons who make poor decisions. Cognitive dissonance incoming.
Hmm. The community I live in has been struggling with the huge costs of a water treatment plant, as well. I’d imagine that we’re one of many. Looks like vote buying from here. www.castanet.net/news/Oliver-...
BC Conservatives pledge $50M for water projects in Osoyoos, Hedley
The Conservative Party of BC has promised $50 million to fix Osoyoos and Hedley's contaminated drinking water, if elected this term.

Good luck BC. No idea why you voted in a gov with so many unhinged, racist assholes, but hey.... Guess Ontario and Alberta weren't strong enough lessons.
I see Doerkson is already promising to live up to the election Cuts to education Cuts to health care Cuts to social services Fewer jobs Higher spending for American oil and gas Racism Anti Trans And for the rich, a tax cut #BCPOLI
Bloodbath day in British Columbia. The day the stupid fuckers in our province get their way. I hope they enjoy the shitshow they’re about to unleash on the rest of us.
No more dismissive comments about the Alberta referendum—like that Canada would be “better off without Alberta.” @harshawalia.bsky.social argues that the left must take the Alberta referendum seriously, as a sign of a growing far-right. breachmedia.ca/alberta-refe...
The Alberta referendum is a serious sign of a growing far-right ⋆ The Breach
In Alberta and elsewhere, the far-right is using referendums to mainstream white nationalism

Hypocrisy not democracy. Stacked pro-AI council, with vested interests in AI. Watch the short clip of Carney. Once again, his talk does not match his walk -- in fact, they are contradictory. As per usual.
Mark Carney just formed an AI Council meant to provide independent advice on Canada’s AI strategy—but nearly every appointee is entangled with private interests that want to use public money for a dangerous AI buildout. Marcus Werner breaks it down. youtube.com/shorts/vqaw5...

Don't vote conservative BC
BC Conservative Heather Maahs compared LGBTQ education to “grooming,” defended events involving blackface and mock slave auctions, and is accused of saying homophobic remarks about MLA Elenore Sturko. Lorne Doerkson still kept her as a candidate. #bcpoli #cdnpoli
By moving to the “center,” Democrats have failed to fight the forces that led us to Donald Trump: widening inequality, economic insecurity, and the unchecked political power of corporations and the rich. Political centrism is nonsense. There is no middle ground between democracy and oligarchy.
This year’s report, titled “The point of return”, says the “task now” is to minimise the size and scale of a temperature “overshoot” and to “establish a credible return path to 1.5C by the end of the century”. www.carbonbrief.org/unep-opportu...
UNEP: Opportunity has ‘been lost’ to meet 1.5C warming limit without ‘overshoot’ - Carbon Brief
A temporary breach of the 1.5C global-warming limit is now “inevitable” following “decades of insufficient climate action”, says the UN Environment Programme (UNEP).

The BC Conservatives kept their platform under wraps until just days before the election... and now we know why. It's a sham. They've cooked their own books. #BCLab #BCPoli #BCElection
For this reason alone I will voting BCNDP. BC separatism driven by Christian Nationalism is a no go. BCCons = AB UCP KLF's base & MP candidates are the same as under their new leader who is just a moderate stand in until BC Cons gain power.
