Realizing that a lot of fellow Americans think British novels & shows where a right wing leader is influenced by Russians are transposing Trump over to the UK, rather than understanding all the stuff with Farage or Johnson, (not to mention decades of suspected influence on various Labour politicos).

The virologists who brought us & the media the "overwhelming evidence" for a natural origin of Covid have been exposed. Their private messages refute their own key arguments for a natural origin & they were fearful that Covid-19 had been genetically engineered in an Wuhan lab. Jul 28 The card-carrying virologists who published just about every influential paper claiming a natural origin of Covid reacted to the Defuse put-furin-cleavage-sites-in-SARS-like-viruses proposal as so: What made me 💢 while reading their messages is they had the same suspicions & reactions to damning evidence of a lab origin of Covid - as one would expect from intelligent scientists - and they wasted years of our lives, pushing nonsensical double spillover raccoon dog theory. It's one thing to have a genuine disagreement with another scientist. It's another to have to waste years of your energy arguing with scientists who are smart enough to know you're right but choose to attack you as an unqualified conspiracy theorist. How many more years of our time and energy are these virologists going to waste when we could be creating better guardrails and oversight for catastrophic pathogen research that's proliferating around the world? Yet Chan still claims she has tons of "evidence" for her conspiracy theory that China Frankensteined up the pandemic based on idiocy like this, or unfunded proposals or people's masters theses, none of which have anything to do with SARS-CoV-2 or contend with all the positive evidence for zoonosis.

Party speak is “its own lexicon,” explains Reid, now 44 years old. Even a native Mandarin speaker “can’t really follow it,” he says. “It’s not meant to be easily understood. It’s almost like a secret language of Chinese officialdom. When they’re talking about anything potentially embarrassing, they speak of it in innuendo and hushed tones, and there’s a certain acceptable way to allude to something.”

Eban is a cranks' stenographer who studiously ignores anyone pointing out errors in claims she publishes. Virtually ever factual claim underlying her stories ostensibly supporting a non-zoonotic origin for the pandemic has been debunked or was known to be wrong / non-supportive before she published.
