Obama shouts out "those ordinary people in the Twin Cities who braved frigid temperatures, risked their own safety, standing shoulder to shoulder to look our for their neighbors and sometimes for strangers because they knew that was the right thing to do"

Kare 11 local news just read, in full, this statement from Michael and Susan Pretti, the parents of Alex Pretti. "Please get the truth out about our son."
On the execution in Minnesota: Obviously, the individuals involved should be held accountable. But responsibility goes to the top of ICE and CBP, and DHS. Their appropriations come up next week in the senate. Not a cent for DHS without pulling ICE and CBP off the streets, in MN and everywhere else.
I just watched the shooting video. It's a horrific beating and execution in the middle of the street. If local and state officials don't move to arrest everyone involved for murder, they need to resign. Making arrests will de-escalate the situation. Do nothing and this is going to explode.
in case you're curious about how angry Minnesota is about ICE, it was -20 today
Minnesota: "School officials say the [5-year-old] child was used as bait. They say [ICE] agents made little Liam knock on the door to ask to be let in in order to see if anyone else was home."
"I started repeating, I'm a citizen, I'm a citizen. ICE didn't even look at my ID. He said that doesn't matter. My boss came out with my passport and held it up to the agent's windshield. He ignored it and drove away. They forced me to do a face scan. They told me I was being deported."
The 6-month-old that DHS is tweeting about here lived in the neighborhood and the baby’s father was just trying to evacuate his family after federal agents had shot someone.
A statement from New American Pathways on the treatment of refugees in Minnesota
AOC: I want everybody to understand that the cuts to your health care are what’s paying for this. You get screwed over to pay a bunch of thugs in the street that are shooting mothers in the face.
This is actually quite brilliant, up to and including the final sentence 🔥
The following is REAL footage from Portland, 2025. Viewer discretion is advised.
Colbert & Kimmel should do their shows on PBS. They could shore up funding & support for Public Broadcasting in one fell swoop.
@chrislhayes.bsky.social watching you now. Kimmel didn't say the shooter was MAGA, important distinction: “The MAGA Gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it"
A free and democratic society cannot silence comedians because the President doesn’t like what they say. This is an attack on free speech and cannot be allowed to stand. All elected officials need to speak up and push back on this undemocratic act.
I think I miss when antitrust review was used to prevent corporate consolidation instead of herding companies into forming a homogenous reactionary content blob.
Look, they do not have the capacity or competence to do this at the scale they want you to fear they do, and your fear is precisely their greatest force multiplier. Everybody who is cowed into silence by their threats allows them a smaller pool to focus on.
Stephen Miler is open about what's coming: a federal law enforcement crackdown on its political opponents
I'm horrified by the shooting of Charlie Kirk at a college event in Utah. Political violence has no place in our country.
Once again faced with the classic ethical thought experiment: If you could go back and kill MechaHitler as a baby chatbot, would you do it?
SCHRIER: Have you ever treated measles? RFK JR: No SCHRIER: Well I have. Let me tell you how miserable these kids is. The great thing is there's a vaccine to prevent it ... they only work if you actually give them
@smith.senate.gov thank you for pushing back against Sen Mike Lee’s ghoulish posts about the assassination of a MN Representative and her husband.
The Dems really, really, *really* need to make Miller the face of the administration, the way Musk was until recently. He’s hugely unlikeable and has the potential to create major drag if he is out front and center.
"The [GOP] bill contains the resources [Miller] needs to replay Los Angeles over and over and over again. If it doesn’t pass, he’ll lose his fix, like a junky whose stash gets flushed down a toilet." @brianbeutler.bsky.social tells Rs who's bidding they're doing www.offmessage.net/p/the-greedy...
