For fun, I decided to rewatch all of the episodes of Batman Caped Crusader that Eel O’Brian was in. He’s only in four (the episodes with Catwoman, Firebug, Mad Monk, and Rose/Thorn), but something interesting I noticed is that season 2’s episodes credit Jack Cole for creating him, but not season 1.

I’m forcing myself to become a morning person (forced to get a new job that literally starts 12 hours before the old one) and brother I feel it
This kind of reminds me of that deal where Diddy had to pay Sting $5,000 a day because he sampled “Every Breath You Take” in a song without permission. I wonder if that’s still required
The antitrust trial for the Warner Bros/Paramount merger will take place in March 2027. Paramount must begin paying WB shareholders $7M a day on Sept. 30 until the deal is complete.
Man I wish I had an office job - statements that are true for me but would kill your average movie protagonist in 1999
I loved this bit from Event Leviathan where Question brings back that running gag from his 80’s book where he never answered anyone properly and would just say “good question” or the like
When you take one bomb-ass selfie
Event Leviathan (2019) 2 Art by Alex Maleev Plastic Man in a high stakes espionage/detective thriller is such a fun idea, and even if he isn’t utilized the ways I’d want, I still appreciate him just being there.
Ok gang, I found a box of motley comics and so before I sell/donate them I figured I’d offer them here first. $10 for the Hardcovers/Softcovers $5 for the manga If you want any of these let me know below. 24 hour first dibs. US only. I will offer discounts for bulk
I love Yang’s idea of exploring what the original Galactus Saga would look like in the modern day. In the 60’s, with aliens and the space race all the rage, it was an alien consuming worlds. In the modern day, it’s an AI consuming information.
The Terrifics (2018) 16 Art by Stephen Segovia As someone who really likes exploring Plas’ history more than just his criminal days, and who likes seeing how a character’s religious history affects them, seeing Plas having been raised a Catholic and those feelings resurface is great to see.
Just finished Marathon Man. I loved it!

I don’t talk about the covers much on the thread, but I have to say number 15’s is one of my favorites for a few reasons, but the only one I’ll talk about is that there’s a sticky note on it asking where Woozy is. Woozy was gone until 2024, so it was nice seeing a reference to him around
The Terrifics (2018) 15 Art by Stephen Segovia The start of Gene Luen Yang’s run! I think Yang does a lot of really good work in the book, and had a lot of big ideas going for it. It deals with religious belief, technological dangers, whether you can love a copy of someone, good stuff.
I think Yang is my favorite author for Terrifics, partly because he expands the realm of the team a bit. Sure, they were traveling planets and such, but they always felt confined to Stagg’s mansion. At the Stagg Campus, you can immediately do a lot more with a main locale as well as the wider world.

Something I can now confirm: Eel O’Brian is in season 2! :D
You know, I really do wonder what the deal is with Eel O’Brian in Batman Caped Crusader. In a crime series like that, you’d expect him to show up as a mobster, but he’s instead a reporter/photojournalist. He’s not even particularly scummy. Maybe underhanded and opportunistic, but not a thug.
Michael Johnston always looks like he should actually be British when he’s not acting, but no he’s an American actor

I like drawing Spider-Man, I like drawing Punisher, I enjoyed watching Brand New Day. Thwip
Let’s talk about Luke for a second After being introduced in JLA as Plas’ abandoned 10 year old son, he’d later be shown as Offspring in various books, and presented as a teenager. He actually appeared in the last Pre-Flashpoint Teen Titans book, which is a bit surprising.
The Terrifics (2018) 13 Art by Joe Bennett I’m gonna be honest not much happens in this one aside from Michael connecting with an alternate universe version of his wife Paula, and the team reforming with new member Luke/Offspring.
That's because Plastic Man predates what we think of as Plastics. Plastic used to mean it was just moldable, shapable, and flexible. C4 is called plastic explosives not because it's made from plastics, but because it's a moldable clay. It wasn't until the 50s that plastic became hard and rigid.
You know, PLASTIC MAN never spanked his enemies, just saying…
Finally A hero that knows how to properly punish his villains
Happy Shark Week, apparently
Batman when it’s his turn at the party to pass the joint but he has a much cooler idea
Really good just draw her all day
