I had a lot of fun discussing my favourite games of 2025 with Tom, and hope you enjoy listening too! There was so much variety this year that it was really difficult to whittle down from my shortlist of 15. Although some of these didn't make the podcast I highly recommend all of these!

Do I have any followers (or mutuals) who consider themselves a Hollow Knight speedrunner, or proficient with the lore of the game? I'd like to talk to two people on these subjects for an episode of Dialogue Tree. Hit me up if that’s you and you're interested!

@dialoguetree.cc Incredibly excited to see what’s just dropped into Pocket Casts. Her Story was so impressive to me, and I was lucky enough to interview Sam Barlow at the time which was a thrill. Can’t wait to hear your take. Also, Bo went straight on my wishlist after last week’s episode.

It’s so lovely to receive feedback like this, especially from somebody who produces such an engaging games podcast. If you haven’t checked out Dialogue Tree yet, do yourself a favour and rectify that sharpish.

This achieves the ideal of conversational podcasting - you feel like you’re listening in on two friends having a nice, chill chat. No performative banter or passive aggressive hazing - just thoughtful, considered discussion 🎧

The Crew 2 is accidentally one of the funniest games ever made because of its procedurally generated storefronts. "CHICKEN GRILLED COFFEE" "SHOE" "BUY ONE GET SECOND ONE" "CIRCULAR DOTS" "$3B.9B"

Glad to see that Clair Obscure: Expedition 33 is getting such great reviews. That initial reveal video really piqued my interest in a way that many modern RPGs fail to do. I don’t think I’ve even played one since the magnificent Dragon Quest XI, but I’ll be finding time for this. At some point.

A few years ago when I was troublingly deep into Elite Dangerous (flight stick, throttle, the lot) I used an EQ to make it sound like Spotify was playing in my ship's cockpit, and had this moment where a song perfectly synced up with a hyperspace jump.
