I can’t get over how good Champion of The Rose (written by @cataquino.bsky.social and Dominique Duran, published by @viz.com) truly is. I finished Volume 1 back in June but it’s still front of mind for me. The plot, pacing, & characters all felt so alive and so intentional. I can’t wait for more.

I watched Camp Rock 3 & it didn't really land for me unfortunately. There were a lot of unforced errors that, if this would've come out back in 2012, would've been forgivable. Unfortunately we waited 16-years for something lackluster. The new generation of talent? Amazing. The story? Not so much.
There is a lot of pressure as a BIPOC writer to “perform” your culture, even in fantasy. Black people are not a monolith. My perspective as a Londoner, a Yoruba person, a child of an immigrant, and a person of mixed heritage is not the same as the next Black writer’s.

Its been on my mind lately how a lot of what I’ve been hearing from the VA world recently, specifically animated shows, has felt pretty bland. It feels like every show is VAs to imitate the same 2-3 overdone voice styles. And I can’t figure out yet if that’s a production or consumer issue.

I'm genuinely grateful for the previous phase of life that got me to where I am now. As much as I hate to admit it....its true....adversity does build character 😂😅 And although everything isnt perfect, for the first time in a long time things are finally seem to be falling into place.
We don't know celebs true personalities but I imagine that it would be dope to be friends with Tinashe, Vince Staples, and Kilo Kish. I could see us having some dope conversations on writing and art. Also they seem super chill, in terms of famous people.

As someone who’s been consuming FROM since day one, I am actively looking forward to its ending. Not because the story drives me to passion but because it’s overstayed it’s welcome. The show’s pacing has been terrible since Season 2 and I’m ready to get to the finish line & move on.
