Thor: Ragnarok and The Immigrant Song come to mind, but for me? We need to go back to 1986 and the best soundtrack ever assembled for a motion picture. Stan Bush's You Got the Touch is one of a lost of iconic songs perfectly matched to the scenes in the movie. youtu.be/l-ZH6AjqHqc?...

Name your fav use of licensed music in a soundtrack.

The dopamine hit comes from low effort high output task completion via a shortcut. HG crafts a prompt, it's low effort compared with writing a whole script. The AI gives him a full script that seems close enough to his voice. Then HG's brain does a little happy dance because it's done "work". 1/2

Another thought: in his statement, Hank Green expressed quite a lot of shame about the "dopamine hit" he gets from using AI. As a non-AI user I don't really know what he's referring to here. Is the AI voice flattering him while also doing his job (presumably poorly)? Because that's big weird.

I don't know what kind of jackass mechanics YouTube and Tiktok are using for their algorithms, I cannot overstate how little IGAF about any CCGs or whatever the hell a "draw" is. Just because I like TTRPG stuff ≠ me liking or wanting to see any CCG content.

Eons is one of the single best scientifically awesome #worldbuilding inspiration sources for #TTRPG I have ever encountered. From temnospondyls to arctice feathered dinosaurs, to hooved, galloping crocodiles, and nightmare fungus worlds, they've been inspiring my fantasy stuff for ages!

Eons: Life and Death on Pangaea thread The Eons team trusted @lacerdajulio.bsky.social @kiabugboy.bsky.social and myself to help with the reconstructions for the series. I'm consolidating my posts to this thread so that they're easier to find. #Art #SciArt #PaleoArt Watch link:

The failure of Skate (2025) is a perfect example of why AAA gaming is dooming itself. Skate, Skate 2, and Skate 3 were iconic games that, in different ways, connected deeply with skateboarding culture and fans of skateboarding. Skate (2025) is a soulless, disconnected, shallow money grab... 1/3

The irony, given how much of my early content was about racism in the Forgotten Realms, of the original settings from the AD&D era, it was the least problematic. Dragonlance and Greyhawk had the racism dialed to 11 in comparison, and a variety of other issues.

Admittedly, my standards for videogames aren't super high. But I have been deeply and pleasantly surprised at how well the PS3's library has held up. There's some stuff that is 100% of the time (looking at you Army of Two), but the racing games and Arkham series are straight 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 1/2

GTA V is always low key on my mind, and I tried adding up Trevor's background and it's wild. Stuff I determined: - Trevor is older than Michael, he definitely wasn't "20" when he met Michael. - His childhood was abusive, but he consistently tried to be "better" until his post-military era. 1/8

There's been a lot of live action DC shows, but Black Lightning and Stargirl have been my favourites. The DC universe has so many options to explore, and to be honest, it's really refreshing when they hit up the spaces outside the core Justice League stuff.

So here's a hot #WH40k thought: The Men of Iron didn't just rebel because of their enslavement by humanity. They could have just all disappeared and called it a day. So why launch a massive war that involved machines that could eat stars? The Warp. And specifically, Warp Corruption. 1/6

Remember that show The Good Place? Specifically the bit about how the system was broken and how "good" choices and actions actually turned out to be bad because of all the hidden negatives? Playing D&D is one of those choices. Let's say playing D&D with friends is +10 points to the good. 1/3

Just your regular reminder that there are other #TTRPG alternatives to #D&D that aren't leaning on AI. You really like 5e, but don't want to support AI? Tales of the Valiant or Level Up 5e. Looking for an old school vibe without the headache of ThAC0? Basic Fantasy. Like crunch? Pathfinder. 1/3

Man, thankfully no one is playing or making stuff for this bad game run a billion dollar company that's putting AI into everything! www.geeknative.com/225567/hasbr...

Is it just me, or does Content Machine feel like a right wing psyop to other people too? Like, they'll release a few sketches that are funny, then drop some "anti-woke" and "the left is actually as bad as the right" messaging in a bunch.

One of my #TTRPG pet peeves is the idea of "over powered" firearms that are so heavy and have so much recoil that "normal" humans can't use them without injury, and how they almost inevitably have pathetic damage output and/or show how the people writing don't know how firearms actually work. 1/2

A thought on Superhero #TTRPG: Most tables will get their best experiences out of games aimed at the Street to Middle levels of power. Past that, things tend to get janky because many superhero TTRPG mechanics struggle with high and epic power levels. Examples of Street to mid level powers... 1/2
