A day before the anniversary of C. M. Grieve's birth (11 August 1892), Tippermuir publishes Ayont the Thistle, edited by Jim Mackintosh, Alan Riach, and James Robertson to mark the centenary of A Drunk Man Looks at the Thistle (1926). My own piece looks at two Gaelic responses published in Gairm.
Lovely to celebrate the 105th anniversary of the birth of Ruaraidh MacThòmais | Derick Thomson (5 August 1921) with a new publication - the chapter 'MacDiarmid and the Gaelic World: C. M. Grieve, Ruaraidh Erskine and Derick Thomson' has just appeared in the volume 'Hugh MacDiarmid 1923-2023'.

Lachlann MacBheathain | Lachlan MacBean, one of Erskine's regular contributors, was born #OTD 6 November 1853 in Kiltarlity. MacBean was also active in pan-Celtic networks and served as the convener of the Scottish Committee of the 1921 pan-Celtic congress in Edinburgh.
